General Jan transfer window

he asked the board to show we are a big club, that has not happened and he stated if another goes he would consider his position not the words of someone just disappointed imho
i missed that - did he actually say that? That’s pretty damning if so!

Fosu has been pants for 2 months and Baptiste is injury prone doesn't get in our best team.

The U's are going up don't you know pump it up!

no?...
bet Fosu doesnt even get into the first team,a strange signing for them,Baptiste is class and would esily be in our best team.

The real Bazzer is back. Chill, we are still a decent side and I agree that promotion is still a real possibility. We have brought decent players in, yes on loan but this is about this season

Disappointing but too many giving up a bit too early
Well no ambition no striker Taylor still out Mackie can’t hit a barn door and he may as well send Agyei out on loan as dit’s stupid leaving a young Hungry striker on the bench, but hey let’s rejoice you’re happy

Will read through this thread at leisure later.

If the reports are true, I’m stoical about Fosu. If £750k was the release clause, fair dos. Hope he does well.

Baptiste - lets be realistic. £3m would pique our interest. £4m would have us shaking hands but demanding add ons too. This is League 1 after all and these sort of fees aren’t paid lightly.

It just feels a little light if the total fee is £3m for both.

You mean that Brentford side currently pushing for promotion to the premier League and who will be playing in a lovely new stadium....yeah, why would a player go to them..
Yep. A club of similar size to us in so many ways but getting everything so right. I suppose the stadium is key though..

I’m sorry but haven’t we done exactly that over the last 5 years and improved massively as a result with probably the best squad we’ve had for 15 years?
No. We have held onto talent and let them go at a time thats right. Roofe, O'Dowda, Johnson etc could all have been sold earlier than they were. We made the progress then they were let go.

Both will be a loss to the squad.

We already have the replacement in Nathan Holland for Fosu who hasn't been at his best for a while. Baptiste is undoubtedly a fantastic player with massive potential but we do have plenty available for central midfield especially with players like Woodburn back. And I'd assume a chance for Agyei to push himself.

Keeping Brannagan and Dickie was vital for me, if players were going to leave. And I wouldn't rule out players coming in yet but that is a guess as things change rapidly at this time of year.

The season isn't over yet Bazzer, whilst I get your disappointment.
But the only problem Holland won’t be here next season

I’ve seen many annoying things over the years, and the window ain’t shut yet! I admire your passion but these aren’t the worst players to lose.
I agree but we needed a striker and a RB but never really did anything about it with all this cup money we’ve earned and to have a bid accepted by a club to basic ally be told by the player to f**k off o ain’t going there says quite a bit about the clubs and it’s chosen path.

If Baptiste has gone for less money that O'Dowda went to Bristol City for, then the world has gone crazy...well Oxford’s bloody world has.
O’Dowda went for 1 million rising possibly to 1.6 so even going on the least optimistic fee for Baptiste nowhere close.

Gavin Whyte, Shandon Baptiste and Tariq Fosu have sold for collectively around £7m having cost us around £300k in total.

It's only a few weeks ago that some were calling for Fosu to be dropped with him going off the boil, and as fantastic as Baptiste is, we have an embarrassment of riches in that position.

As Robinson says, no one will be happy with them leaving, especially so late in the window but let's see where we are in May before condemning everyone involved with the club.

I sent a text in to BBC radox and it was only partially read out to my annoyance. I said along the lines of:- after Karl had said they (Baptiste & fosu) were stepping up another level did that mean that oufc are not stepping up another level too? Felt the 5 minutes was crushing and hastily put together all round which will cause quite an outcry amongst supporter's with mind bending results. And before an outcry starts here l know of course that we are a selling club but can't help thinking out of the box after listening back on some of Karl's comments that it was littered with very awkward moments especially when he said that the players themselves weren't happy...what about the move?...if so did he actually mean the duo aren't happy or the players who are left behind aren't happy? Either way it's very strange if they aren't happy with their impending move. So it begs to the ordinary laymen and laywomen that it's probably the top hot dogs who have sanctioned this move. Now if it is Brentford these two could personally do better than this in every full month of Sunday's. So to me it's the quick high end higher than reported buck and orf you jolly well go. I may be so wide of the mark that Steve Evans waist band is genuinely only a 32" size but the interview bless him was conducted hastily and hung him out a little to dry. I think Karl was totally p*ssed off but coped reasonably well in the circumstances.

Personally, we all knew that things were likely to happen but to shoo out two outstanding talents inside a few hours is hard to digest especially when the nation is a watching on Tuesday with a full house beckoning as well. However, with this in mind the squad will need to step up a gear and show everyone out there that the oufc BMW line of talent is still active and churning and we'll get over this setback which wasn't really a bloody suprise- but it was... seemingly double Dutch and by selling two of our double bloody diamonds too! Grudgingly I wish them well and thank both geezers for the entertainment given.

Coyy's.
