General Jan transfer window

Personally I think that's a good sign. Things are being taken very seriously and being kept close. I normally hear bits bit have had no names for a week, but still expect deals to be concluded. I'll go out on a limb and say that we'll get 2 or maybe 3 in, with one still to go out.
Really? I’ll be surprised if we do any deals before Friday

RO this morning: Robinson wont waste money on a FB if he cant get one thats better than what he already has in the squad. He says he has plenty of cover at RB anyway with Long, Hanson and Forde all able to play there.

No mention of attempts to strengthen in any other areas.

When asked if that meant funds would then be diverted to an extra attacking option, Robinson replied: “Possibly, we’ll see.”

And there we have it from Robbo, the usual "happy with what ive got" when at the beginning of the month we had a queue of right backs and it was just a question of which one.

But we are assured we are going for it by much wiser men than myself, so it could all be a bluff of course.

I’m more concerned about us getting someone in who knows where the back of the net is and can play 90 mins consistently.

RB strengthening would be great but we can’t rely on Mackie to pick up goals, Taylor (it appears) is being managed and Ageyi is still a bit raw in my opinion.

Didn’t hear that at 6:30. Was that on a different bulletin or was the whole thing taken from an interview put up elsewhere?

He still sounds a bit reticent about it all though

That was in the Oxford Mail article this morning.

While I am hopeful that we will bring in a full back and a striker before the transfer deadline, if we cannot get quality in that is better than what we already have without ridiculous overspending, then There is little point in signing anyone.
I would truly love to see us promoted, but not at the expense of selling the family silver at seasons end to balance the books.

Exactly, we obviously had targets but as Scotchegg has said again and again, deals can fall through for various reasons, and there’s no point getting in someone worse than what we already have for the sake of it. I think it’s also worth pointing out that Long in particular seems to get better and better with each game when he has a run in the team, and, while he is admittedly a ‘different kind of fullback’ to a Camden, there’s no harm at all in developing one of our own imo.

The lack of a new RB could be a reason players like Hanson hasn't gone out on loan despite suggesting that players would be leaving this month.
