General Jan transfer window

It could be rubbish of course but I read that before Baptiste was injured the last time it was a done deal that he was going to Brentford.
He seems to be coming good again and seems to play better against the better sides so....
With all due respect to Brentford Id like to think he could do better. I could kinda cope if he left for someone like Fulham for £3M, but Brentford.....

I am surprised that it isnt Premiership (IF true)
Brentford and Fulham are what 3 points or so apart and Brentford have a great record of developing young players and selling them on to the PL.

I'd be interested if you could instance a pessimistic post in this case, SE. There may be posts saying we are going to lose all our best players and not sign anyone at all (I presume that's the 'worst case scenario') but I haven't seen them. Can you enlighten me? If there are, I'd say 'wait and see' to them too!

Slandered him? What did he say?!
I seem to remember Marcus Browne having a really crap time on loan at Wigan, basically not able to settle up north. So maybe we can get him on a cut price deal from 'boro..

Hopefully MB will know that he'd be better playing for us. It might also persuade Cam Brannagan to sign a new deal or stay for a little longer, as they were good buddies when he was here.

Browne is on Championship wages now, with a long contract. He won’t be trading that in any time soon.

Loan till the end of the season with us paying 25% of his wages?
A loan is a different beast. But there will be no cut price deal, or permanent deal of any kind.

I was never as sold on him as many were. Yes, he had moments of brilliance and scored some lovely goals, but he was overly temperamental and got too stroppy when he wasn’t in the game - he could be very sulky and while sulking also kicked out a lot and picked up a good few cards. If he was stropping and got booked you had to take him off. I saw he got a straight red for Middlesbrough the other week so it looks like he’s still very turbulent. Here’s some comments from the local press and Woodgate on that front:

Boro looked well placed to hang on for a draw before Browne, who had already been booked for simulation just minutes after coming off the bench, was sent off for a reckless challenge on Mike van der Hoorn.

“The decision from Marcus Browne to make an horrific, horrific tackle on the Swansea player, I can't condone that, it's a terrible tackle that deserves a straight red.

“I don't condone those types of tackles and he's let his team down. I've watched it back it's a straight red all day long.

“But the ill-discipline from Marcus Browne really cost us that game. He'll definitely get fined.”

Those kind of comments should be kept in house, not spread all over the local press. Terrible management, whatever he really thought of the challenge.
