Karl Robinson’s interview on iFollow is slightly concerning. He’s clearly frustrated at some of the shenanigans that we’ve had to endure over the last week or so. He was hoping to have another one in today and sounded doubtful about anyone else coming in while they’re out in Portugal.

Fingers crossed he gets some better news soon.

He also said that Tiger is flying in for a meeting on Saturday to discuss budgets.
I have to say Karl can really speak well. Whatever else you can’t knock his work ethic. I like the bloke and do believe he has the clubs interest at heart. Time will tell, but I for one am optimistic he’ll get it right.

Just seen Robinson’s interview. Not sure what to make of his take on where we’re at with the recruitment. He himself has compared it to 12 months ago so not ideal. He seemed quite flat when talking about it and it doesn’t sound like there’s a massive amount left in the budget. Hopefully they’ll manage to get a few more over the line in the next week or so.

Good interview overall though.

Tshimanga gone to Boreham Wood. Suspect Karl is a bit cross about that one.

Really not sure what you mean by this. The fact he’s ended up where he has clearly tells you that Robinson never really wanted him.

I’m pleased he’s not coming. We need much better in my opinion.

If you read between the lines, It sounds as though (from Robinson’s interview) that he’s frustrated that having an owner overseas who holds the purse strings doesn’t allow us flexibility to make quick decisions over transfers, therefore we’re losing targets. As a result we’re sure to end up with sub standard strikers. Look at a club like Posh. They always have quality strikers because they have an owner who takes an active role and sanctions higher transfer spends. Strikers cost money and if we don’t push the boat out it’ll be another mediocre season or worse.

Yep a good striker "20 goals a season" at this level will cost a pretty penny .... who would fit the bill and how much I wonder?

Not the best example to use given Darragh McAnthony lives in the States.

I didn’t know that but he clearly takes more of an active role and is savvy in selling players and reinvesting funds in good strikers which is crucial to get up the top end of the table.

Yet their last four finishes are 9th, 11th, 14th and 9th...

It’s the same every season at Posh, a lot of spin in the summer then they never live up to the billing.
