Winding-up petition number 5 - Here we go again!!!

To be fair, Tiger did warn us of more bumps. His update was timed very carefully do drop this in.

But what can we do. We are, to be frank, utterly shafted without a cash injection from somewhere. I share others concerns in where this cash is actually coming from.

I mentioned on another thread that the club is being exploited. I think a few misunderstood or had a constrained view of exploitation

I have concerns about the origin of Cash flow.

what’s to stop him using upcoming season ticket money for bills/running costs and having next seasons squad full up with the u23s and remaining players? i’ll need some reassuring before parting with my hard earned cash

"I am the custodian and if I have to carry on being that for as long as it takes, I will do.

“But I will not let it go into any hands where it can be taken advantage of, ruins Oxford United or takes it back.

“I am sitting quite comfortable looking after it and will do what is right for Oxford United.”

Firoz Kassam May 2017 - he'll do what's right for Oxford Utd!

For a person who makes about two comments a year on OUFC and only when particularly bristled by some antagonistic comment or other that an owner makes, interesting that Kassam was available at short notice for a radio comment / interview.

In this instance I don't really blame Kassam.

The club soured relationships further with him at that pathetic '5 stadium options' fans forum, where all sorts of things were said. Since then it appears they have not stuck to agreed payment dates. It is no surprise he is happy to put the boot in now.

This is getting more serious by the day. If we go into administration, break our contract with Kassam does that mean he could flatten the Kassam for housing etc and we'd be homeless? Does Tiger for some reason want this.

Who is going to buy a season ticket for next year
I am already fucked ig there is no monthly instalment plan

Now I wonder if we will pay up front, then end up with no club to support as its been wound up.

This is getting beyond a joke, very worrying times, at least we will complete the season so a points deduction would be next year ?

I have always assumed this was pretty much Tiger’s long term plan from day one.
Does anyone on this Forum have inside knowledge and/or a better legal understanding of how these covenants work?
I would assume the logic runs something like this...
1. OUFC does not pay rent
2. Kassam applies successfully to wind up OUFC
3. Kassam argues that as OUFC no longer exists, the sporting covenant over the land is null and void
4. The Court agrees with (3)
5. Kassam sells the land for c £60-80m to a developer
6. Kassam is free to award a financial bonus to whoever has helped him realise these very substantial profits
Is this a possible scenario? Would be interested in an informed view....thanks

So is this Kassam WUP just a threat to get Tiger to pay up, or is there more to it than that? If the club is wound up, then does it free up the ground for development?

He's already done that.

Like him or hate him, Firoz is probably as pissed and embarrassed as the rest of us are.

Kassams still a c**t even if hes owed the money.
He 'owes' Oxford City Council under the terms of his lease of the Priory! ..... except, it appears Oxford City Council are frightened of him? .... local elections are looming (May) if, when those invisible until they want your vote councillors, or wanna be councillors, are asked by every OUFC supporter who lives in any of the Oxford City wards, (when they appear on doorsteps to ask for votes) what, if elected , they intend to do, to ensure the terms of the grade 11 listed Priory lease are adhered to by the leaseholder..... who knows , incoming newly elected councillors might, just might instigate legal action against the tax exiled slum landlord?

The club have issued a good statement to be fair. Someone on this thread mentioned it ironic that FK was readily available for a comment immediately and I thought I wouldn't be surprised if he went to the press in the first place. Looks like he did!!
