We never really threatened from a striking perspective this evening. Billy Bodin was tidy but again some horrible shooting, Harris gives his all but thinks too much. O'Donkor has to be in the top 10 players in world football for controlling a ball on this chest but never looks like scoring. Otherwise quite happy

That was a very decent point against a team who had come to win and let’s face it were better than us. Des earned his money by bringing on Negru, we were rocking but saw the game out well. We’re obviously a striker short and are still a young and slight team, we need an old lag in the window!

One thing from tonight’s game is how much we need Moore. And how much more comfortable both Thorniley and Negru are in a 3
We don’t create a single thing though if we started a game 3 at the back

Two rhetorical questions:

1) How refreshing is it watching two teams who actually want to play football? This has been a great watch.

2) Am I going mad or is Purkiss having a stellar game? Best ref performance this season?
In my opinion he let too many Bolton fouls go without booking their players. They were pulling back our players from breaking forward then booked Mills for his first foul

Best CB in the league IMO.

Only 4 teams have scored more than us though and only 2 teams have conceded less. It’s not as bad as some are making it out to be.
Maybe we won’t have an out and out scorer this season but as a team we still score plenty of goals.
It is, we’ve got away with defenders scoring our goals. We are getting next to nothing from our midfielders, quality as they are and our strikers don’t look like scoring. I get what you mean but we need a striker. If we don’t I highly doubt we even make the playoffs

Much better tonight and matches Bolton. One moan we need at least one striker and if it’s going to cost them so be it because although Harris works and works hard a goal scorer he isn't. Please Des start Murphy from the off

Decent point tonight.

We should have gone 1-0 up with the chances we had but were under the cosh for the last half hour or so.

Bolton are very good. Champions elect you’d think but still a long way to go.

How Beadle didn’t get Man of the Match I’ll never know. Lots of good performances, but he was superb tonight.

Bolton were a very good side no doubt. Looked the more likely winners. This said, we had our opportunities to be in front in the first half, but hanging on in the second. Shows how far we have come in 12 months to be competing so closely with probably the best team in League 1. Two or three decent signings in January and we will be there or there abouts at the end of the season.

We beat Bolton last season 😂 means we’ve gone backwards 😉

Brannagan had a very good game but please can we get him off corners with those dinked crosses. Surely we can get him or someone else to do something different especially when we’re up against a lump like Santos.

Totally pointless fact, but since we beat Exeter 3-0 they have picked up 2 points in their last 9 games

Really decent tonight. Beadle brilliant. Defence were all good. Thornley was excellent as was Brown and Moore. Stevens is looking better now too.

We need another central midfielder as we lack options there.

There is definitely a player in Mills but he sometimes looks like he doesn't want the ball and he really lacks a trick. If he can push the ball past a player and run he is fine but I'm surprised at his lack of tricks to beat a player one on one. Edwards, now there is someone who if stays fit will be a big player for us!

Hopefully everyone can get behind Buckingham now, he managed the game really well.

Big point tonight against a vg Bolton side, the best team I’ve seen us play this season, but we competed from start to finish and a fair result.

The best thing about us was the spine of the team was absolutely rock solid and all had decent games from one end to the other, Beadle, Moore, Brannagan, Harris, plus the other two fairly central players Thorniley and McGuane.

Great tactical move to bring on Negru when their left back was getting crosses in at will once Mills got tired and couldn’t help Stevens out. Maybe that change could have come 5 mins earlier but other than that 10-15 minute spell when they got well on top, we managed the game really well, though didn’t create much ourselves 2nd half.

Overall a hard earned point that felt like it was actually worth a bit more.

Really enjoyed tonight’s performance.
A richly deserved point .
Bolton have real strength in attack, but were unable to totally break us .
Imagine where we’d be with there attacking force.

21 goals have come from our attacking midfielders/wide men this season so that’s not exactly true.
