League One Swindon on the brink

I have seen a lot of comments from the whining scum on other forums with many making the same points.
  • It's not fair. They should punish Power and not the fans
  • The FA have got it in for Swindon because they were previously punished in 1992. The punishment was too harsh then and will be again just because it's Swindon.
  • This is not fair on Swindon because top Premier League clubs are treated more lightly
  • Let's take the points deduction now because we are going down anyway
To which I would counter:
  • This is the same for all of us. The rules are there so that clubs who break the rules do not have an unfair advantage over clubs who adhere to them. Swindon have secretly had access to 50% of their capital since 2014 from a source that was not available to clubs who stick to the rules. The club broke the rules so it is right that the club takes the punishment
  • We don't know the outcome yet and whether the 1992 case will have any impact. The 1992 ruling did say that it should be taken into consideration if there were any further breaches. There has been a long gap and the 1992 offence was different so this may or may not come onto play. Luton Town were punished for serial breaches of the rules
  • Yes but it is the same for all clubs at this level. Swindon are not being treated as a special case.
  • D'uhh

Unless I'm very mistaken, if they go into Administration now - but still finish in the bottom four without the points deduction - then it will be applied next season instead of this. Meaning they'll start on -12 points in League Two.

Would be the perfect scenario for me - see them drop into the Conference, so that the tables are fully turned. Look down on them for a decade or so. But don't have them go out of business.....I do want to see us play them again in a competitive fixture one day......

This may be out of date but in 2007 the decision was taken that if you go into administration after late March, the points deduction will be added depending on their final league position.

These arguments come up every time a club goes into administration, some Bolton fans, some Wigan fans etc all did it. And you can guarantee they'll ignore or minimise the benefit side of the equation and claim the Authorities are after them (Bolton have no complaints considering how lightly they got away with it). It is a rubbish claim as the entity benefitted (ie. Swindon got promoted etc).

And the points deductions would only get applied this season if they weren't in the bottom 4. Hopefully they get further points deducted for the ownership charge and gives them at least a -20 points, hopefully more, starting next season in L2.

They should also have a transfer embargo

.... and then we go and get promoted the same season!
An impossible dream of course, but Wouldn’t that be something!!😂

Love it.. Hope they spend decades in non league. Hate is not a strong enough word for how i feel about these scumbags. I couldn’t give a shite about so called Scum friends (who in their right mind would have such friends anyway?) Let’s just sit back, raise a glass and laugh out Fkin heads off at their misery, because rest assured if the boot were to be on the other foot..........

I concur. The boot has most definitely been on the other foot, and did they care about us? No. Karma is coming back around and I for one will be watching their situation very closely to ensure I eat up every single possible morsel of their spiral into the footballing abyss. Up the Yelluz!

Well...For the first time in my life and the last I will be secretly (not so secret now) hoping the Scum Bags win a game or possibly two: Pompey & Ipswich. Perfect if they lose the other two and are relegated to Div 4 (Old Money) How ironic if the Swines assisted our march to the Championship. COO. F Off Scumdon.

From over their side...........

"He was only ever here treading water and stealing a living, as noted in other thread I wonder whether he has heard that April's pay check may not arrive anyway, plus as noted he doesn't have an embarrassing relegation on his cv (to the lazy eye at least)."

Who will take that job on considering what is occurring off the pitch?
