Add to that the fact that the defense has been so bad that Ruffels was probably brought back far too soon and was running out of energy.
Dont agree. Agyei tracked back well
That was 8n response to agyei didnt track back comment

Its not rocket science to see our problems are in defence, if this is not sorted we will struggle. we lost a game today we could have won with the chances we had plus some excellent saves from their keeper, my man of the match, never mind Graham who i must admit also did well. Agyei had a good first half and was a constant threat, faded in the second half after the Gills shut him down. On to Crewe on Tuesday another day another game.

Clare was poor for the first goal yes but Easty should not be beaten on his near post also Clare had his pocket picked at least twice he was slow in pacing the ball and knowing what was going on around him, like most I don’t think he’s a good enough right back but then is he better than what we have for the right side of midfield ..... no....
Ruffles is just back from injury and should not have played the whole game
Easty did make 2 fantastic saves later in the game in his defence

Our defence is a mess, Clare playing out of position, Kelly er.. poor, again, Winnall should start on Tuesday. Poor result against Crewe and no new faces should make for a perfect week!
Oh and a bombshell from the Boardroom just to make things really interesting.

Who would have thought that a defence of a RB at centre back, a right winger at RB and a LB returning from injury would ship goals ...

It’s a results game and we simply have to be nastier. KR teams do seem to lack that at times. For all the good positions he’s managed to get teams into, they do fall at the final hurdle. Plenty of play off campaigns that have ended in heroic failure.

Gorrin would could be that nasty player we need to get into sides. I know that @RyanioBirdio has been calling for it all season.

That it was the highest xG in our favour since he’s been at the club, and that he would rather spend money on a winger and use a U21 loan signing if there’s another body needed defensively.
Well, I might be being daft here but...

A pacy winger is really used to create chances. And that is something we did OK today, with Cooper still to come back on the left anyway. There is no point making yet more chances if we have to score three goals to get a point!

What we didn't do was defend properly. I'd get an experienced CB in (but one a few years younger than Mous!), move Long to right back, move Clare forwards.

I am obviously missing something, but it seems as clear as day to me!

You do get the feeling that if Robinson was offered a defence of Cafu, Nesta, Baresi and Roberto Carlos he would rather sign another attacking midfielder, he can certainly never be accused of being a defensive minded manager.

We do probably need both in his defence, the squad is very light in a couple of positions.

Clare was signed as a right back, I very much doubt we’ll see him moved forwards.

I took Robinson’s comments after the game to be that he’d like a young permanent signing at CB as he mentioned developing someone for when the next CB is sold on.

To be fair, if Dickie and Mousinho had been injured last season we would have looked bare too. Any club which has a squad cap of 22 will look bare with two centre backs injured.

watching the scum to cheer me up......such a shame....both scum and wimbledon are absolute pants and we are at the same level only because we have a right and left back who are not up to it.....we will look like Brazil against these chumps but you can bet on it we will concede because of this.
