Staggering that some people still have a dim witted outlook of “I don’t care, Kassam is a bad man, let’s carry on getting him and giving him hell! Yaaaarrrrrrr!”
The guy holds all of the cards and he is in charge of our fate more than anybody else. Anybody with half a brain can realise that therefore he needs to be approached with caution and dealt with carefully - it has NOTHING to do with whether he’s right or wrong, good or bad etc, and nobody is saying he should be ‘bowed down’ to. You can be civil with somebody and simply not punch them in the face without it being a case of worshipping them. At the end of the day, you don’t win a war by running bollock naked towards your opponent while armed only with a rock. They have an army and a load of guns - you’re going to get yourself shot. You need to be more calculated and to look for ways in which you can trip them up, and if you just can’t get them, you figure out how to simply survive for the time being. It’s absolutely moronic to think the best thing to do is keep going - the guy will crush us. Have some common sense and realise where we’re at, and stop blindly banging the drum. It was reckless and irresponsible to publicly swipe at him the way we did, because as we’ve seen, we don’t even have a pot to P**s in. We were never in a position to take him on.
Too much blind emotion is what got us into this crap in the first place.
@Scotchegg tell me what Firoka have done wrong?
And how much of a backhander he took to sign itIt would be interesting to see the document that Nick Merry signed with Firoz Kassam.
He has a legally binding contract and therefore is entitled to be paid as per that contract. However that doesn't take away from the fact that he's a nasty little s**t who has milked every penny from this club. He has singled handedly done more to hurt our club than all of Thailands business elite, DE, Leneghan and countless of below standard managers.@Scotchegg tell me what Firoka have done wrong?
I didn't mention the £1m in rent??!! But we do pay well over the odds for a P**s poor stadium with a pathetic level of service. Do you believe we get good value for money, or that Kassam has the clubs best interest at heart?Oh @Scotchegg we don't pay £1m per annum in rent, another LIE from our football club which created a few days of Anti-Kassam feeling.
Also you might not listen to half truths and anger filled comments, but you are happy to put them out there. Rather than little snippets of info and "let's see what the media find out" why not just come out and say what you know. Too many people enjoy playing the "I know more than you" bullshit without actually saying anything. So to clarify, he's done nothing wrong over this latest episode. Glad, we've got that agreed.
I've witnessed little evidence in the past few years that Kassam is a nasty s**t. I also don't listen to half-truths and anger-filled comments about the landlord from people who don't know the truth or don't have facts to substantiate their claims. Sorry if this is breaking away from the 'Kassam is the Devil' rhetoric.
As I say, let's wait to see what else the media find out. Oh and my point about the Ultras on Saturday..........where everyone assumes Firoka are a bunch of ****s, wasn't actually the case was it.

They knew about this for some time, 100%. But the club management - middle and senior - are at best being disingenuous with what they are telling people. I won't use the word lie. I bet they have a few more s**t storms to deal with yet.........

Come on Bradders!
I get that you have had seemingly productive talks with him, but let's not dismiss previous actions!
The statement that club and ground would never be split?
The asset transfer of the Manor and then subsequent sale at double the price?
The promise of revenue from his Grenoble Road empire assisting the club?
None of it illegal, but none of it remotely in any interest of OUFC, and all of it probably outright damaging.
Do you see it as value for money for a League 1 football club when you include the service charge?Yes we do get reasonable value, if you took the time to compare what other football clubs have to pay rent to their landlords By the way, there is a fair few.
We pay circa £300,000 rent.
Should the football club look to work on a new deal for revenue splits, something that was on the table, if the football club looked to work with Firoka on a 4th stand, yes that too was on the table, then things might start working. It'll take time because until November, some members of staff were more intent on pursuing an arbitration they were unlikely to win, whilst seeing the legal bill increase.
