5th and final Ashes test

Pat Cummins wins the toss for the first time in the series - England to bat.

The weather forecast suggests that it’s likely to be a stop-start day, which will favour the fielding team.

And Duckett and Crawley both out caught behind the wicket - the Aussies have dropped two as well. Lack of technique from the two batsmen.

100 partnership for Moeen and Brook at a run rate of nearly a run a ball, recovering from 73-3. Eng 174/3.

Root went for 5, Ali got a credible-ish 34 then Stokes gone cheaply for 3 - 5 wickets gone and England haven't reached 200 as yet ... two of our top batsmen didn't make double figures between them

212/7

Starc with an injured arm gets Stokes and Brook.

Bairstow I’m sorry is just not good enough at the moment. A big own goal by the selectors, yes he got a lovely 99 in the last test match, but it was favourable time to bat, and had the license to be aggressive, and play lots of shots.

250/7 at Tea.

Lovely partnership between Woakes and Wood.

When we get bowled out, the umpires will tell us, sorry on spinners allowed.

Blimey, come back from lunch and there has been a clatter of wickets. Australia 153/5, still 130 behind.

The Aussies defensive approach and subsequent slow scoring rate (2.43) might cost them a first innings lead (hopefully)

It's been an odd tactic, the longer you hang around without scoring the more likely a ball with your name on it will turn up.
