Anyway....... I learned to drive in a Morris Traveller and also learned how to do carpentry and a bit of mechanics at the same time. Replaced all the timber framework at the back, luckily we had the right wood and the patterns that had been borrowed from the works.

Yes kids some cars had wooden components.

I had a VW Golf Mk 1. It was a heap but expired when the electrics were arcing from the engine block to one of the wings. Fortunately it died when at home.
