Or when there's no room in the inn.but the true test of a manger is when they have to deal with adversity, such as losing a few players
No players in the bar after the match - just Tiger's entourage of "hangers on". Something not right up there. All the talk afterwards was that we are apparently looking at a parcel of land near Bicester. KR will be here all season - you wait & see.
I hope for all our sakes that Robinson can save his job over the next 2-3 league games. For me the various worrying things about him come together in the signing of Jamie Mackie.
The guy is 33 this month and he was given a 2 year contract presumably on the strength of his 'greatest hits' clips, because his legs and his lungs have clearly gone. Let's have no more talk of "wait till he's fit"...he's a professional athlete (yes, really) and he should be totally match fit by now no question.
I don't blame Mackie himself, what fading pro would not want a nice 2 year gig like the one he's landed. It just shows terrible judgement and lack of perception on Robinson's part.

Fancy naming any of these targets we missed out on?That doesn't include the last few of Hoolahan,Malumbu and Karacan. It's panic - caused by missing out on summer targets. Perhaps he set his sights unrealistically high, wasn't persuasive enough or we didn't have the money to match the ambition. It's left us in the lurch though. I'd rather use Smith more and perhaps put Browne more centrally as well than sign another ageing, injured player.
If I was told we were going to start the season with Samir Carruthers, Ricky Holmes, Marcus Browne and Jamie Mackie I would have been very happy.Well since I am not in the know I cannot. But apparently we were going to do our business early, and had a list of names that was hugely impressive. Since neither of those things came to pass, I think it is a quite reasonable assumption. Unless you think that KR's aim was to have the current strike force of course! And I'd have said that the fact we are still looking at OOC players pretty much answers the question anyway!

Those were the players who I knew, when Garbutt, Hanson and McMahon signed and I looked at their history I was also excited.
It has not worked...…….yet. It still might or more importantly it should work. The should is important, this will come down to Robinson, he's going to have to get people on side or get rid. If he doesn't then naturally his job will be under threat.
I’m not so sure. Both KR and Tiger have emphasised on several occasions about this being a long term project - I think Robinson said a three year plan or words to that effect. And so far I haven’t got a measure of Tiger at all, there doesn’t seem to be any clues as to how ruthless he’ll be if things don’t go to plan quickly.I think even KR will accept that his job is at risk.
Tiger's stated vision of OUFC being part of what the world perceives as "Oxford" is hardly going to happen when the team keeps losing and sits down at the bottom of League 1.
I can't see Thai Airlines putting that up as a reason to travel! Nor are Singha Beer going to be too pleased with the image being portrayed.
If KR doesn't get things going in the right direction, and soon, then he will be saying bye bye.
Have to say what a fantastic job Robinson has done.
Talks absolute sense in every interview I’ve heard. Honest, driven and seems to know how to get a team organised and playing.
Well that didn’t last long!
