In Melbourne it is a 3 mile radius around your house and there’s an online map that tells you where that is for your house.
Expecting this Govt to be able to provide an online map with the areas allowed to go for each house is optimism personified!

They're still working on the one that plots a route from their a**e to their elbow.Expecting this Govt to be able to provide an online map with the areas allowed to go for each house is optimism personified!
Or creweUsing Oxford as the example is a bit like using Man Utd’s to base a championship/league one covid survival strategy on! What should the likes of Warwick, Reading, Brookes, Buckingham do?
As long as they say they'll try.Yes but as long as they "try" that'll be enough
NHS Covid-19 app users sent incorrect risk-level change alerts
People in England and Wales reported notifications that did not match government guidance for their areaswww.theguardian.com
Seriously, our defence is less accident prone than this government.
The app uses postal district.
The website uses postcode.
Surprisingly some don`t know the difference.
And 3 highly trained astronauts able to think on their feet were able to find a solution and get themselves home safely (against all odds it has to be said).Like having round oxygen scrubbers in the command module and square one's in the landing module....
However said "app" and postcode checker would have been developed for different circumstances and possibly not even considering a Tier structure based on Council areas (County, Unitary,City or otherwise) that also cross postal districts and postcodes.
If the developers were still discussing the best way to structure the app people would be complaining it wasn`t ready.
Likewise if it was location tracking and updating as people crossed boundaries it would be "Big Brother & infringing our uman rites".
Just saying.
Excuses, excuses, excuses. It really isn't difficult to standardise something like this all systems/media.
Reality, reality.
Folk already think they are being "Big Brothered"............ yet fight to get in the queue for the latest tech.

How can getting either the postal district or postcodes consistent across systems in anyway be considered "Big Brothered"?! That is stretching beyond anything vaguely close to reality to excuse a failing in basic planning.
