General 2023 - OUFC Released List

They have a contract so if they don't want to leave then they can just sit here and twiddle their thumbs all they want.
Depending on the manager will depend on how the player is treated. Some will be told to go and train with the youth team, some will be told to only come in once the 1st team players have left and to train on their own, some will even be told they aren't allowed to use the same changing room as the first team players.
It then comes down to how stubborn a player is to whether they put up with it or bite the bullet and leave.
There is a saying amongst some players though which is 'No doe, no go' so they will tell a manager or a chairman he is happy to leave but the club have to pay his contract up.

Usually you will get a club and player meet half way and the player will get 6 months off his remaining year and then will leave.

So we can't force them, but we can bully and demean them until they leave. What a horrible world football can be

I’m not on the bandwagon of people who seem to see the fact that Jones performing well two divisions below us as evidence that he ‘could have done a job for us’, but seems odd that he’s been let go without Manning ever having had a real look at him. He’s been out for so much of the last few years that it may have been the case that he could have returned a different player to the one who left on loan.

Also not seen it mentioned elsewhere but a slight shame to see Spasov go. Always liked the look of him. Is he still our record youngest scorer? Or is that now GOD? Makes it all the more pleasing that TG and GOD have come through this year, given how many false dawns we’ve had with youth team players recently with the likes of Lopes, Jones and now Spasov not making the grade. Here’s hoping that Johnson and Golding continue the trend of the current crop.
