I haven’t posted on this bat crazy thread !
Few things the kit is clearly ready but being saved for the home pre season games so fans can buy it the day it’s first worn !
We have a decent base we need more players but we don’t need to bring in players just for the sake of it the squad we already have finishes in the top 8 in my view , yes I would like players to have been signed but to bring in better than what we already have isn’t going to be easy I predict cadden joins next week

Didn’t think re-signing existing players mattered; or does it only matter when it’s not Oxford?
Pardon.
My opening post saying they've signed 2 new players and extended contracts of 2.
I then posted additionally saying, it's now 3 new players.

Hourihane and Bradley Johnson apparently close too. Plus 3 more of last seasons squad signing new deals.

Their 5 a side squad very quickly doubling anr almost trebling

Not sure where you're getting your info from, but although close I'm aware it certainly isn't ready as they weren't happy about aspects of it, so they're finalising details.

Positive view, they're making sure the kit is right before releasing something fans will moan about.

Negative is that all the delay does is reduce pre-season kit sales when anticipation and excitement is full tilt.

No club waits until the first game to release and I'm sure we will be doing everything we can to get things finalised and released asap, but at least they're making sure it's right.

Mendez-laing played for Sheffield wednesday?

I was referring to your previous post about re-signing two of their younger prospects. Doesn’t really make much sense to mention that, when those that have claimed us doing the same, to be good business, have been shut down?

Do you hate Oxford united?
It is precisely because we love Oxford United that we question both the ambition and overall ownership..

Both of which are currently a bit of a joke. Any fan with even a slight interest would think our transfer business is laughable..

I find it strange, that for people who want to build us a new stadium and win over all the doubters in the local community that say oufc can't afford to build a community asset for everyone to use that they haven't come out and confirmed they are actually the owners now. 🙄
Your in a minority mate, if we’ve been taken over then in my mind and the majority of fans this needs to be confirmed, it’s like having a new player or manager but not formally announcing it - It’s really not hard to understand, come on ffs

Ambition, overall ownership? Have you not noticed the new ground which would completely transform the Club as well as the millions being put in to keep us competing with the bigger clubs of this league ?
Laughable, no a little disappointing not to have a couple of signings in the first 10 days or so but that will be rectified.

I think you mean @captainox Post, however that now makes sense and i am in agreement with you on that front because bodin, gorrin and baldock do all count as signings.

Oh yeah, you’re right! Sorry mate. I didn’t notice that you had quoted CaptainOx.

Don’t forget Moore as well! [emoji4]

I haven't once said any thing about whether re-signed players count/don't count. I was merely stating that Derby have now done some business (new and re-signings) because there had a been a fair amount of mention of "Derby only having 5 players" across the forum and in particular this thread.

@LeftSideBoy Seems odd to bring a point of disagreement backup with someone who hasn't made any comment on it previously.

You both raise valid points however

Luke Freeman would be a good signing at this level.

Doubt we are looking at such a quality player.
Would be a quality signing that would bring bags of experience however i think we have plenty of options in the middle of the park.

Additional RB option too.

Unless our attitude - once again - is ‘well Forde can go there or we move a CB and have a 50% churn in defence’.

Like for likes in EVERY position please. You wouldn’t start a season with a player who could play goalkeeper if required. View every position as specialist.
If Forde can’t be a backup right back then what is his purpose? Where is he a backup for?

I’d personally rather have Forde backing up right back, right wing and centre mid, Long covering across the back line etc and therefore having more money in the budget for top quality players than having loads of average players as cover for every position.
