There would have been lots of wrong decisions throughout the season both in our favour and some against, so don’t think we can just narrow it down to two games. Can see the ref getting a dressing down from the assessor over the penalty decisions.
Got all 3 wrong, whether poor positioning or lack of official team work. To get 100% wrong is some achievement.
When it comes to division one, both games this week, show it’s just not good enough
Harris, aerially, is a concern. That’s three or four on a plate for him in the last few games that he’s either missed completely, misdirected or just not got a good contact on. He needs better timing obviously but also has to launch himself at the ball with a bit of intent, do that and he might get one in off a shoulder, his back, his chest. Out of his 18 goals will be interesting to see how many headers because that looks a very weak part of his game.
He is a converted winger, probably not going to be his strong point. The trouble with only having one forward is, at this level, how many forwards are going to be all round players? We are asking a lot of any one player to be our entire centre forward roster, signing an injured forward in Goodwin is looking like it will cost us this season.
Good morning all,
Well, I hope we have all had a decent nights sleep and are waking up this morning with an uptick in optimism and hope once again.
Looking forward to the watching the scores play out later today. It's not over, till it's over.
This may well turn out to be a "so near yet so far" season, but we've had lots of bumps and turmoil along the way and to still be clinging to some hope going into the last game of the season is such a significant step forward compared to last season. I will take that any day of the week.
Atmosphere has stepped up hugely these past few games and as a team we have shown the good, the bad and the ugly, so I refuse to be down about things, it really isn't worth it.
Des has earned the right to the summer and next season. He arrested the slide and got us back in with a fighting chance. To those that said in January that sticking with Des will see us end the season in mid table mediocrity, well, you were wrong.
The sun is shining, its the weekend, enjoy
Hoping Pompey win today as that will put them on 97 points and a possible 100 to aim for at Lincoln next weekend. I’m sure they’ll want to keep that 4 defeats intact too, that must be close to a L1 record for fewest losses? Will be interesting to see how they go today and might give us an indicator towards next weekend, they’ll have been partying on Tuesday night but hopefully Mous has them refocused.
Did you see the state of their players midweek?!That is an excellent point.
Here’s hoping Pompey finish with a flourish. The thought of making 100 points has to be a massive incentive.
He was second when we arrived. People are bored of hearing that, but he has underperformed. Simple. It's obvious we are still a work in progress. Des has done extremely well to keep us in the play off hunt. Personally, I don't think we are quite good enough for the Championship just yet. Having said that, of course I hope we make the play offs but if we don't then it's not the end of the world and with decent recruitment over the summer we will be there or thereabouts next season.

And as if it needed repeating not had the same cards in a winning hand!!He was second when we arrived. People are bored of hearing that, but he has underperformed. Simple.
The problem I have with statements like that is that it is not 'simple'.He was second when we arrived. People are bored of hearing that, but he has underperformed. Simple.
