But I'd have still won the lottery.
if you want to take my analogy too seriously, then the point was that you wouldnโ€™t be able to enjoy winning the lottery.

Far too many on here wouldn't even bother getting a ticket. "No one wins, what's the point!" Life is about having hope and taking chances. You apply for jobs in the hope of being successful. You ask a girl/boy out in the hope that they say yes. And if it doesn't work out then you try again.
My comment was on how people enjoy the same outcome. Kip will be way more fun after we win the play off final, because heโ€™ll be getting the rounds of KFC for all and sundry whilst in a state of complete disbelief.

Youโ€™ll be twirling your moustache, maybe even permitting yourself to order a sparkling water as you tell us all that it was wrapped up in November anyway.

Optimism is so much better than the constant pessimism that some come out with and I'll never apologise for it.
I donโ€™t think I disagree, I was just pointing out a downside. In a light hearted way.

Do restraining orders expire?

Bet youโ€™d still go to work the next day though

I just hope the windy conditions and the muddy pitch are not a great leveller.

They have lost their last 6 home games so the pitch hasnโ€™t been much use to them.

Since the turn of the year they are 3-4-10 in all games, 13 points from 17 games so if we canโ€™t win this one we only have ourselves to blame.

Not only is it more enjoyable, optimism is better for other people too. No one wants to be around a whingy grump.

Really looking forward to this.
Should be a brilliant atmosphere, behind the goal, standing, low roof.

Good memories of Burton too, from their cancelled party game.

โ€˜Should you be putting all our money into that investment?โ€™
โ€˜Ah it will probably be fine!โ€™

โ€˜Maybe we should research before booking that?โ€™
โ€˜It will all work out!โ€™

โ€˜Iโ€™m really worried about Xโ€™
โ€˜Nah donโ€™t worry!โ€™

Mindless, endless, baseless optimism is just as annoying and removed from reality as that but with pessimism. Best to go for realism with a sprinkle of optimism I reckon

You do realise it's only a football game don't you?

Careful ask her again and she'll have a case for sexual harassment, I've just sat through the online training.
