Moore being back helped immensely and didn’t seem to sit so deep today either. Dale gave us more weight in the midfield and defensively, as well an attacking threat. Still no Burey on the bench, something is amiss there surely as could have done with someone to run at them the last 15 with fresh legs.

lucky lucky Portsmouth. But if we play the same way for the last 10 games we have a great chance of making the playoffs

COYY
Don't think we will tbh. We make at least 2 stupid mistakes a game giving goals to the opposition. We don't score when we're on top and tend to give up when we let in the 2nd. I.e. didn't create anything once they scored against the run of play. We have a losing mentality unfortunately.

Improved performance, yes, but that's 1 win in 10 now. Dress it up however you like, but it's simply not good enough.
Exactly, but those fooled by Des can be happy even with a loss if the performance isn’t too bad.

He should already not be at the club. Any improvement now is too late.

Sad times.

Not a bad performance, as for Des record it gets worse, how worse it can get is the key, if he continues to do this he has to go over the summer.

As for Burey he has to play him, sooner rather than later.

I’m not being negative but does anyone really trust Des to replicate that approach next weekend ? I’m convinced he’ll revert to type as it’s now teetering on desperate territory. I cannot see him adopting an aggressive game plan when it’s a game where we need all the points to stay in touch. He will try and sneak ahead and then sit on it. If he does suddenly become this positive approach manager then why has it taken 20 games to produce it ? It’s another defeat today and I’m as unconvinced by him as I ever have been.

Much improved performance and actually exciting to watch. Play like that and we will win more than we lose. Dale and Murphy immense on the wings but Dale just edged it for me just for getting under the skin of the pompey commentators alone.

As for the fans moaning about us playing pretty football, I am pretty sure it is the same ones who were moaning about the boring, long ball football with no game plan in the previous games.

Pompey will know they got lucky with that win and we will feel very hard done by not to get at least a point, if not all 3.
Murphy should have played in Harris for a tap in 2nd half. Can't say he was immense if his end product was zero

Agree. Some are dressing this up as the turning point but Des has had 24 games including cup games in charge and one decent performance against Pompey even though we lost doesn't change my feeling he was the wrong choice to takeover from Manning.

Play like that for the next 10 and we’ll finish top 6.

If we can’t then it’s time for a change as motivation seems to be the issue.

So close !!!!! Really ? I’ve seen nothing since he’s been here to suggest we are anywhere near close. Today was a good performance, is that what ‘so close’ means ?
I'm intrigued, so please humour me here..

Your in charge of the club, you're the top cheese, the man who hires and fires the staff. I think we are all in agreement you want to fire Des so I assume he'd be gone.

What's your next move, who are you replacing him with?

Not been good enough all season. Shouldn't take a big game for us to up our game. Too many players have been underperforming all season, we have far too many players on big wages not justifying those big contracts.
Blackpool right on our tail now, I predict we'll fall away and finish depressingly firmly in mid table. Wasted season.

The truth is that we ourselves are in this P**s poor lge and have ourselves not always hit the heights and if we're lucky/unlucky will come up against the dreaded Blackpool but NOT Wycome or Pompey.

For starters anyone with EFL or equivalent experience would be a candidate.

Quite.

Despite the naysayers we simply have to give Des the Summer and most of next season before thinking of showing him the door. Hopefully with a few tweaks, a few ins and outs we may actually click next season.

If Des continues his current form into the next 10 games we cannot afford to give him next season in my opinion. His current ppg is 1.10 which is relegation form. Thankfully we had such a good start under Manning before he left we were in no danger going down when Des took over.

The current form can't continue, let's see what happens - definitely an improvement today despite the result.
