Dot Counting Reading - Heading for a Sellout

Attendance tracking
I think it’s just a confirmation that this game doesn’t fire up the support in the same way games against Swindon do.

12:30 KO doesn’t help, either.
Here we go again, it's a big derby and for some of us it's just the same as the other lot!

People moaning about a 12.30 ko, if we go up at some point, games and times are moved constantly.

Yep. Old timers can froth about this but it’s just not Swindon. There isn’t that appeal there.

In fact, the last two visits Reading have had to the Kassam Stadium in 2003 and 2004 for League Cup ties saw attendances of 9,870 and 5,919.

They’re basically Wycombe. Local enough to sell out their away allocation but not enough needle to the game to get worked up about.

I can only speak for myself. For me, and I lived most of my childhood in Newbury where there are a large number of Reading fans, it’s a poor second to Swindon. If you feel differently, great, but clearly most of our fans feel as I do.

As for the 12:30 issue, again, I speak only for myself and personal experience. My young nephew plays for Oxford City on Saturday mornings and has had to negotiate an early exit from his game so that he could attend our match. Had the coach not been understanding, he wouldn’t have been able to come. This scenario will be being played out many, many, times around Oxon, and we’re not yet at the levels of support where those people who may miss games like this are easily replaced.

Sorry if that reality gets in the way of your regular criticism of our own fans, but it is a reality.

Yes two of my family who are season ticket holders will be missing this game due to Grandson is playing 11am ko

This will sell out. I don't get why tickets can't be sold on the day though. What difference does it make surely all the plans will be in place based on a sell out?

What regular criticism?

Thankfully we don't all live in your echo chamber, and some people are capable of an independent thought.

Oh, and f*ck Reading!
