Manager/Coach KR needs to go

But also to be fair, on this thread apart from the OP there is just one person who has agreed that he ought to be sacked right now. Everyone else seems to have said that it's early days and with a bit of flexibility in formation (as today) we could well be OK. So the vast majority here (not talking about other Social Meeja) probably got it about right!
Yes fair enough. To be fair on 606 a Man City 'fan' reckoned Pep should be fired last week so maybe the OP is not so strange after all

Not just based on another disappointing night, but since he’s been at the club- he clearly works hard and is passionate about football- but I just don’t believe he can put together a balanced squad or build a winning side. I’ve seen nothing to change my mind on him or any confidence it will improve. Sorry time for a change!!

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Yes, definitely. Some of the so called fans on here are among the most clueless I’ve ever come across. Absolute muppets calling for Robbo to go after a defeat or two. I thought he had a veiled go at some fans on the radio tonight and fair play to him, he has every right to.

He really needs to go his tactics are all wrong we’re conceding silly goals and STILL waiting for a goal scorer 7 points 9 goals 0 conceded in 3 games it’s not acceptable KR out

Hang on a second, I think there has been good reason to criticise KR over the last couple of seasons. I’ve been one of those critical fans. Let’s see how the season pans out, we have been hit and miss in the league but done brilliantly in the league cup.

But KR deserves immense credit for tonight’s performance and for the Lincoln result - sensational results and performances. So many things stood out tonight but for me the fact that he could make 6 changes from Saturday and we still managed to humiliate West Ham - wow!

Tactically he also made an essential change at half time. In the 1st half West Ham had a lot of joy down their left. I thought Long did a good job but wasn’t getting much effective defensive support from Hall. 2nd half Sykes provided that cover and Hall played more centrally. Great swap by KR.

Not that he should or will care but he is winning around ‘doubters’ like me. Brilliant work KR, keep it up!

The problem with this forum. We win. Everyone is brilliant. We lose. Everyone is awful.

KR seems to have peaks and troughs. He’s been well backed and has gathered together a really great squad that can play sensational football for this level. And apparently is also capable of tactical oddities and strangely poor runs.

Right now we should absolutely enjoy the run we are on, the excellence we’ve just witnessed, and give credit where it’s due. But let’s not perform retrospective rewrites. Let’s really hope this time Karl has worked out the formula and we can keep it going.

A privilege to watch the boys tonight. I still can’t decide whether I enjoyed Mackies shithousery or Baptistes christening as a future premiership star more.

It's easy to jump on the back of the last couple of games and say how wonderful life is at Oxford United, as it would have been just as easy to complain after losing against Fleetwood and others.

But I am always surprised with how quick some are to dismiss our players following a poor performance or two, and consequently Robinson for bringing them in. This week has showed just how strong our squad really is, and also how difficult it can be to get the balance right every week.

Over the last 5 days we've seen fantastic performances from, what, 18/19 players with Long/Cadden both fantastic (albeit very different), Mous/Moore/Dickie great at CB, Ruffels/Eastwood back at their best and Mackie/Taylor being able to run the defence hard and then pick up vital goals.

But special credit goes to our midfield/wider players. Gorrin, Brannagan, Baptiste, Thorne (hopefully not out for long), Woodburn, Fosu, Henry, Hall, Forde and Sykes! 10 players who would strengthen most sides in this league, and Robinson is faced with not being able to play 5 of the them each game!

It will take a while to get the exact balance right and we will need to adapt game by game, but no one can deny that Robinson has brought in some really special players to this club, as well as developing those we had, and when they tick, anything can happen.

In this case it was following a 3-0 home win and away 0-0 draw!

It's very rich for some on here to now say everything is fine and dandy. Although I think it was too early to call for him to be sacked, some people fairly critisized KR and his tactics, like sticking with 4231, which gives us less of an attacking output than we saw last night, which was more of a 433 in my opinion. KR should be given credit for the recent improvement in results however, by tweaking tactics and keeping strong. Now its time to keep up these recent performances and we will easily push for playoff places

Nobody is saying all is fine and dandy that I can see.
People are simply referring to the fact that 2 games ago after 4 points in 2 game and none conceded, a small number were suggesting that 'KR has to go'
Thank goodness Tiger wasnt as fickle..

looking at those players mentioned i think we’re only really lacking in quality at left back. if Ruffels gets injured and out for a bit is Bercoe ready to fill in.
maybe at a push Long could play there but other than that we’re well stocked

He doesn't need sacking as a matter of urgency, but this is turning into a carbon copy of last season. Lessons have not been learnt and fans are starting to vote with their feet with attendances dropping. It's all just a bit tedious and the best we can hope for again is probably mid-table.
Would be nice to see another manager have a go with this group of players, I genuinely think we have a good squad on paper who could have a push at the playoffs, but not playing under the current systems, tactics, formations etc.
Are the board still aiming for the Championship as they claim? Or are they happy plodding along as we are?
Few matches down the line and Robinson seems to be finding a formation, system and tactics to get the best out of them! Perhaps this might not be a carbon copy of last season after all and we might actually have a crack at the playoffs?! We certainly have the players to do so, let's hope they can carry this form over a long run of games in the league. As for the cup... we've done it before so why not win it again ;) It's amazing how your mood can change in 7 days! Football is a crazy game...
