Yes I think after the last month there is a long way to still go. We have injuries and need at least 4 editions, the squad is thin bare at the minute. But you need to take a point from games like this ,we probably as an away team deserved that but Odonker is so poor, I cannot believe that Perkins is that bad if we would have give him the same 10 to 15 minutes each game like God as had I bet he would have scored a couple of goals. God as really regressed this season . Let's hope we get more players back ,players in and players out .I keep forgetting how bad the squad was but 3 points Tuesday will keep us up there ,but our form is not very good at the minute.
What I don't get is why Radio Oxford don't push questions about Perkins not playing or have any inside info. I mean two different managers have made the same choices. Surely we would hear about it if he was turning up to training late, not putting the effort in, pulling wheel spins on the training ground, crapping on the managers desk or something else. However, nothing, zilch and it seems that we are non the wiser about why he doesn't get a look in. Is it as simple as both managers, actually three if you count Shaw in temp charge, just don't think he is good enough having observed him in training?

Can anyone see any points coming from our next 2 home games ,I would love 4 but can see zero ,then we will be in about 7/8th spot with a game at an inform Coventry to come it's going to be a tough few weeks to come how we are playing.

Just to be clear chaps. NTFC do NOT see OUFC as any sort of special rival. I’ll think you’ll find most teams in this league really don’t like you and enjoy beating you because you are so delusional and arrogant!
Anyway, at least you now know that you are indeed in the same division as NTFC!!
Good luck for the rest of 2023.

Unless things change fairly drastically over January - both in terms of knackered players recovering and new faces coming in - I really cannot see us threatening the playoffs at the end of the season.

Well, that was a s**t day out. Aside from an M&S sandwich courtesy of the BP filling station, there was nothing to be happy about. Crap stand with open ends and the wind blasting through, no leg room and then the team forget how to play footy.

Embarrassing at the end to hear boos and see several fans shouting abuse at the players. They looked a little taken aback by the reaction, as well they should but, also be aware that supporters are a fickle lot.

It's all been said by many others on here already so I won't repeat everything. Boxing day better be an improvement, full house, full of Christmas cheer, don't P**s them off!

A bit weird calling yourself that name??

Feels like the unrest in the stands speaks to a wider club issue. The fans continue to pack out away ends, support the club when asked, but aside from focus on the stadium there is very little feeling of direction from the club.

This appears to be mirrored on the pitch - what was todays game plan? Fans can accept the squad is light and that we require further additions/players shipped out, but we need something to support. Much like reading, the fans were supportive for the first 25/30mins, but everyone became tired of the slow play with centre backs standing on the ball with lack of any movement and players taking responsibility.

Unsurprisingly, fans are venting at players due to the lack of dialogue from the club (and when there is **some** indication, it comes from Williams chatting to The Athletic) rather than a forum that was promised or through the local paper. The fans have no other outlet to voice concerns so consequently, the players are taking the heat.

Seems strange to say it whilst sat in 5th, but it’s easy to talk things up when things are going well, but we seemingly have a hierarchy that hide as soon as a scrutiny is offered.

Today’s football was not good and maybe speaks to wider discontent.

Surely every team enjoys beating other teams?

I think you will find most other teams in this league other than you (no idea why), Wycombe and Reading don't give two hoots about us. The fact you have come on here tells us what a special rival you feel we are. If you look at every rival survey ever done in football, most clubs don't even mention us. Why would they!

Andy I applaud your enthusiasm but we are going to struggle until we get some good reinforcements.Other teams have worked out that if you can keep Rodrigues out of the game we have no other threat.

I’m really sorry but I didn’t think Des was right for the job. (said this at the time of his appointment) and after that interview he seems out of his depth and at a loss.Hope I am wrong about him and he leads us to promotion

I don’t know anything but have a gut feeling that if the right club comes in Brannagan could be on his way. Just the way his shoulders slump and general body language when other players under perform
Whatever we might think about Des, he is here, he's not going anywhere (I don't think!) so let's be supportive of him. Yes I agree we are woefully short in certain areas and our injuries have hamstrung us a lot this season....but we'll all take our position now rather than be any of the bottom six teams currently, I'd much rather be this end of the table.

Top two is beyond us and the play offs could well be a difficult ask, but we as a fanbase HAVE to be positive, support whoever pulls on the shirt week in week out, and get behind them, from here til the end of the season and see where it takes us. It's never an easy ride supporting OUFC, we all know that, this season is no different!

It’s too early to say if he is or isn’t the right person for the job. I voted for none as I didn’t have enough knowledge about any of them to call it sensibly so I am pleased to say I cant be wrong (or right). As for his interview, sadly it was a less emotional version of Robinson’s panicking, incoherent mess. In the past he has talked about his system, and getting them to play his way on several interviews, but currently I am at a loss to what his way actually is and I’m not sure he is after today. Does anyone have any idea what it is? Manning maybe an A*****e, but at least his strategy was clear. Certainly at the moment, whatever Buckingham is proposing to the team does not seem to be working and it is hard not to think that it doesn’t need a drastic rethink whatever it is meant to be. Watching today the players look confused once again (not as bad as the Robinson days but it did remind somewhat of last year’s malaise). Yes we have players missing, but that’s no excuse for this and other performances under his tenure with the talent that’s still available.

As for Brannagan, he always plays with his heart on his sleeve and is upset when performances (his and or others) are not at an acceptable level. Wasn’t his best today, but still better than most.

I might be day dreaming but I think I only heard Brannagan's name from about 35 mins onwards.

I think even with poor players, we've at least seen glimpses of a system in the past. Couldn't see that today other than pass it around the back then either A) lump it forward to Harris (who I can't recall having the ball at his feet) or B) pass it left to Murphy who ran with little to no support.

Have you actually read this thread?

Not much sign of delusion or arrogance, just the realisation that things aren’t going well at the moment, magnified by the fact that on todays showing we have lost against a poor side.

Anyway, enjoy your Christmas. Hope Santa brings you lots of goodies.

User name is a bit sick by the way.

That’s fantastic news. Didn’t even know it was a conversation .

Two of your fans racing on here to let us know the result and remind us you’ve made it into the same division had truly put those rumours to bed
