The matches seem to be coming thick and fast now.

At time of writing this post, the weather is set to be a warm 12oC!

I think if we are honest with ourselves most of us thought we would lose today.

I had an Elek moment and bet on Pboro win to nil. Doesn't make it feel any better. Feel a bit down about it all.

Big January window needed?

Which of the three Bolton chances they show do you think was clearer cut than the Mills one? Which had a better save than the Brannagan one? One of them doesn’t even result in a shot!

To say we “definitely didn’t have the best chances” just makes it look like you’re trying really hard to argue.
There are some posters on here genuinely up for a thoughtful debate and who will consider the merit in others' opinions, or at least counter it constructively. Unfortunately, there are others who go about forum life as if they were the arbiters of truth and all acceptable opinions.

For what it's worth, I agree with EC Yellow (I generally hold a pretty pessimistic outlook looking at the trend of our games under Des); I just don't like the way they've gone about it.

Hard not to, to be fair!

Even if I think the Bolton game was the brightest spot, it’s hard to look past the two away games when thinking of the bigger picture

We won’t play another team who has that much pace this season and that attacking this season

No doubting that this place was exceptionally downbeat before kick off.
A lot of us have been around this club for a long time, the highs and the lows and everything in between. You learn to not get too high or too low and sometimes pragmatism sounds like pessimism. But I’m generally optimistic.
Buckingham needs more time, how long only the board will say.

Abit calmer now ,Manning definately over achieved and trebled his wages in one fell swoop. And you can't blame him. Let's be honest if he continues at Bristol like he's doing he won't last long. We need another window we have done unbelievably well with one striker .Let's hope we can stay in the top 6 we need another 4 quality players in January.

...and who might that be?

We seem to think that possession counts for every thing even when we are behind as match stats show. Reality, as we all know, is that only goals matter and we have srikers that can't strike.
Can't fault the work rate of Harris but work rate alone is not enough, O'Donkor is big fast and strong but lacking in guile/anticipation, neither score at the goals per game required.

I’d start Bennett on Tuesday and put Brown at CB with Moore.
Agree with that.

It is way too early to be writing Des off. We’re not as good as the second position suggested and we have a s**t load of injuries and he doesn’t have a team around him. As others have said it will take time to turn the KR rubbish around. Two more transfer windows.

My honest opinion at the moment is that I’m sure Buckingham is a great coach and would be a fantastic assistant to an experienced head coach.

I’d love him to prove me wrong.

Having paid a very hefty sum to release Des from his City Group contract and then giving him a 3.5 year deal, unless there‘s something seriously amiss behind the scenes I’m sure the board will give him a lot of time as well as a few transfer windows. He‘s only been here 5 games and 3 weeks!

We have been bumbling along in league 1 always seemingly 1 or 2 windows away from success. About time we actually delivered rather than being tidy football also rans. Take a look at Luton! For goodness sake sign more physical players like Leigh and less lightweight short players!

I'm losing count of the amount of posts citing the loss of Leigh and Edwards as the primary reason for our inability to score a goal or win a game.

There appears to be a collective amnesia that they both signed a month into the season - a month that had us top of the table.

Two great players of course - but we looked a decent outfit before them and we have enough in our squad to still be decent in their absence.

We have far bigger, fundamental, problems than the temporary absence of Leigh and Edwards.

Now, I’ve calmed down a bit I think it’s good to highlight a couple of bright spots.

Firstly, despite being second best in every area today, the players didn’t give up fighting to get control. The fact they didn’t achieve it, isn’t surprising against a side who came unbelievably close to getting promoted last season when we just escaped relegation.

Second positive point is that almost all our players have improved in their output but of course need to find that belief again.

Thirdly, when we get Leigh, Long and Edwards back it’ll be a huge difference.

I personally feel we dropped a clanger hiring a development manager when we were in a position to hire someone who could keep the momentum going, however we are where we are, and I’m going to be cheering on Tuesday night and for the rest of the season and surely we can get the win Tuesday that would absolve this very poor run of league games. COYY!!!!
Long? should be nowhere near the first team

We have no pace is are team again same as last season , Greg Leigh edwards Browne is are pace and they all out , Murphy has to start ,

What a load of B*****s. Mills is as fast as any of them.

It's not as simple as one dimension.
