I'm probably a bit thick, but I didn't understand parts of that interview:

"Some of the names that have been brought up that have been injured to stop a player coming to us, you're like 'he's world class, so why is that player stopping my player coming to me?'.

"We're not going to be able to carry this amount of players for a season. We know it’ll constitute in a negative output but we still have good players, so from that point of view I’m still positive.”

Is the heat getting to me already, or is that complete gobbledegook?
My reading of it was that he was talking to PL club(s) about young prospects coming on loan but getting knocked back because first team guys had picked up injuries

“You wouldn’t believe some of the things that haven’t gone our way.

"Some of the names that have been brought up that have been injured to stop a player coming to us, you're like 'he's world class, so why is that player stopping my player coming to me?'.

“There’s one we’ll hopefully get done and we can explain the complications behind this deal, and it’s been going on a long time.

"For the players that we’ve got, we know we’re very thin on the ground.

"We're not going to be able to carry this amount of players for a season. We know it’ll constitute in a negative output but we still have good players, so from that point of view I’m still positive.”

Shifting the blame is an artform Karl.
Oscar Wilde - "To lose one may be regarded as a misfortune, to lose two looks like carelessness"

Another getting all frothy over nothing? The first 2 of those could be classed as 'shifting the blame'. The rest? #3 is hopefully a deal to be completed soon, #4 and #5 are admissions of failure pretty much.

Critiquing the words of our manager is classed as "getting frothy"?

Why should we accept our manager, in your own words Ste, shifting the blame and then admitting failure?

No I've not said he is shifting the blame, they were your words that I used. I said that only the first two of the examples you gave could be classed as that.

As I've said before on this thread, it was such a bland piece. There are a few comments where KR is admitting things aren't going to plan and saying there are places he can see that need improving.

You did however admit that not all, but some of his words constituted both blame-shifting and admission of failure.

I cannot accept that. This was a hugely important window and he's left himself in a position where he is on a wild goose chase to save it, and presumably, agents can prey on our desperation to sign players.

All Oxford United fans should feel rightly let-down by him.

No, I said the first two "could" be constituted as shifting of blame, which they could if you were that way inclined. Please don't put words into my mouth. Admission of failure doesn't constitute a failure in itself, now he has identified these it is up to him to remedy it. A failure would be not recognising there is work to be done.

It's been a massively frustrating window so far and we appear to be slipping behind the leading clubs - of that there is no doubt. But we haven't finished yet. There is still time to get the right players in and have a positive season.

I think it’s probably the fact you completely overlooked half the piece to pinpoint your agenda towards a couple of the comments rather than take the article as a whole

So, is this the week that either our chickens come home to roost as it becomes apparent we are going into Derby undercooked?

Or is it the week that our esteemed transfer machine rises phoenix from the flames as we start splashing the mythical bounties of our board left, right and centre leaving our league 1 colleagues in a cold sweat?

Is it the one where we chance our arm on a brand new keeper 2 weeks before the season starts?

How many players eager for fitness do Rob Segal and pals have ready for us to take a look at?

Personally I can't wait to see.
