Not a wow signing? Who would be then?!
Not a 19 year old who’s only had 2 appearances for Liverpool. Can you remember the 2 youngsters from Man City.

A wow signing would be George Baldock or an Ivan Toney type player.

Don’t get me wrong, this Tyler could turn out to be a great player/squad addition, but I won’t go wow just yet.

McGuane played once for Barcelona and was considered a wow signing.

You can never guarantee what you're going to get with players. Winnall had plenty of experience and pedigree, but didn't achieve here.

You either take risks on youngsters who need to prove themselves, or older heads who might not now have what they once could provide. Or you're paying big bucks to people who definitely can play at this level.

We’d have no chance signing George Baldock or Ivan Toney though. I meant can you give specific examples of who we could realistically get that would be a ‘wow’ player?

If you're expectations of a wow signing is someone who scored in 1 in 3 PL games last season then I'm afraid that you're going to be very disappointed.

You do realise how difficult it is for any player to get in that Liverpool side, right? Let alone a 19-year-old making their way up the ranks from the youth team. And that's 2 league appearances you've mentioned, failing to recognise the 2 FA Cup, 3 EFL Cup and 2 Champions League games he played in last season. Comparing him to Buckley-Ricketts and Smith-Brown is nonsensical considering neither of them were anywhere near the City first team.

I would be really surprised if Liverpool let him leave on loan, especially to a League One club like ourself, as he's essentially their third-choice DM after Fabinho and Henderson. Also is that the position where we need a player, considering everyone's saying Smyth is a DM?

Smyth looked tough and versatile and could maybe play in a more Branagan sort of role. We need another midfielder anyway.

Theo Corbeanu was a player I mentioned a while ago.

Think he would suit a KR side massively.
I’m the least ITK person on this forum when it comes to us (although WY and MY do their best to prove otherwise) but I do know someone very well in at Wolves, have posed the question and should be able to clear this one up fair sharpish!

They’re reportedly in talks with Bellingham, could be the move needed to knock him down the pecking order?

Doubtful, if Bellingham comes in it means Oxlade-Chamberlain goes out as a makeweight. I could see a scenario where Morton goes out to get a full season under his belt, but I seriously doubt it'd be at anything lower than a Championship side. A more realistic prospect would be someone like Leighton Clarkson.

He’s already played twice in the Champions League. He’s 19!!!

That’s already more than anyone, that has played for Oxford, has ever done. Fact.

You think George Baldock is a wow signing!? [emoji28]For all of the shite on this forum about signing players that have already played for us, you choose another player, that has already played for us, as your WOW signing! Jesus mate. Use your imagination a little bit…

George Baldock, for all his good looks, could only get near a Liverpool team if he was waiting for the team bus, with a shirt and a pen in his hand…

Can you name any players, like Toney, that are within our budgetary reach? Theres a reason why Toney went for so much money; because there aren’t many players like him!

We couldn’t even afford Toney while he was on loan from Newcastle at Peterborough, but you expect us to be able to sign a player of that ilk?

I hope Morton signs for us and absolutely destroys this league. Maybe then, people will understand the gulf in quality between players that have done well at our level - which in comparison, is pretty poor, and a VERY highly-rated prospect from Liverpool, like Morton.

There is a reason he was trusted enough to start in important Champions League and EPL matches for Liverpool. He’s a young kid with bags of potential, and If Jurgen Klopp can see that, I couldn’t give a handful of fook about what WanderingYellow and co think about him as a player!

I think he's probably an outstanding player who would be a coup. I'd be very excited to sign him. But as I said one swallow doesn't make a summer, we need several more good quality players to be in with a shout.

No one is suggesting that we are relying on a single swallow to make our summer? Right now, we are discussing Tyler Morton. I find the tone being used towards a young player that might be coming to us on loan, having already played in the EPL and the Champions League, at the age of 19, quite honestly, staggering!

We’ve seen a lot of quality names in the last few days, so let’s imagine this:

Dane Scarlett
Tyler Morton
Taylor Roberts
Gavin Whyte
Stuart Findley
Callum Doyle

Let’s see what happens, but rest assured, if all goes well, I’ll be bookmarking your comments for future use. Anything you do say, shall be used as evidence! [emoji6]
