Just now our clubs financial dealings are being questioned I've said on here many a time and been shot down. We have generated millions in transfer fees Where's it all going? Roofe, lundstrum, Johnson, fosu, Baptiste, odowda, whyte, ledson and the list goes on

Reducing our losses is where it has gone and funding transfer fees/increased playing budgets.

The accounts show that we run at a loss and rely on loans from the shareholders even when player sales are taken into account. Plus we just lost 1.5 seasons worth of ticket sales.

Just take a look at any of the accounts that have been published over the last 5 years.

I can't believe this still needs answering in 2022. The club loses £2m a season before we do anything. We've then tried to finance promotion chasing squads whilst remaining in FFP, where do you think the money is going?!

OK let's see if you all have the same mindsets and answers before the start of the season. We never reinvest in the squad player wise we have bought most of our players on the cheap or loans that's the bottom line.

Given the higher than expected number of departures (if McNally leaves) for continuity signing Browne is good business.

I am somewhat concerned this may now close the door on an eventual left back/left wing back signing. I really hope I’m wrong…

Don’t believe so.

McNally will complete move to Burnley this week.

OUFC will be signing a left back & another centre back 100%.

Hopefully we’ll sign another one on top of that pending Mousinho not being included in the squad.

It's not a mindset, it's facts.

Brown wasn’t in the plans a few of weeks ago. We weren’t interested in signing him permanently.
It’s a sensible signing though as cover for left sided centre back whose comfortable in a central 2 and 3.

Does this mean the players we were after turned us down?

Pays off the debt we get into every year

Brown is a good signing, strong, athletic, physical defender who is fully fit and at 24 a good age, hopefully hungry to push on. Can play left centre back in a two or three or left back, so adds some defensive depth to a squad desperately needing it.

I actually really liked him last year, bit different from our usual defenders but we could do with that, he is certainly a step up from bringing Mousinho in to do a job for one game.

Or that we haven't paid transfer fees or loan fees. Gavin Whyte, Marcus Browne, Herbie Kane, Luke McNally, Oisin Smyth, Cam Brannagan, Elliott Moore etc etc were all allowed to sign for us for nothing.
Herbie kane isn't our player, gavin whyte we bought for peanuts sold for couple of million. Luke mcnally was peanuts, brannagan was peanuts luckily haven't cashed in yet.....

Brown signing will more than likely be because McNally is now going. So I’d say Brown is in addition to other players we are in for.
Talks to sign brown wouldn’t take as long as other players as he already knows the club.

We had to pay loan fees for both Kane and Whyte. The fact we can buy players for ‘peanuts’ and then sell for a big profit just a few years down the line shows that our recruitment is pretty spot on!

Over £100k is peanuts? And we paid a signifcant loan fee for Herbie Kane.
