Well we found out that Hall, Hanson and Grayson are not up to it. Many cannot play twice in 48 hours and while we were poor we had more than enough chances to win.
We've known for over 12 months that Hall and Hanson are not good enough.

As for Grayson, a terrible performance, but it was his first start for us, so could easily change.

Karl's face says it all, he got the starting line up wrong. He should of started with the 11 we finished with.

A few players have probably played their last games for us. Grayson, Hall, Hanson all not good enough. Why Agyei was not even on the bench is beyond me.

Now if we get a result at Ipswich it will be fine, but it's now put pressure on the team to perform.
Woah, that’s got to be the earliest ever dismissal of a player! Has Grayson actually played a full game yet?

It's a second string competition so only fair the likes of Hall started. They've played in previous rounds and need minutes in the legs.

Disappointing performance, especially first half but don't disagree at all with KR changing the team how he did.

Hopefully if Grayson needed again at any point he shakes off the rust. Would be surprised if he could play that badly again after a run of games.

Sick and tired of people on here making excuses for him, game after game. Nearly 30 games into a season and he has been well off of it in 99% of those games. Say what you like but factually speaking, I’m not wrong. No way he starts on Saturday.
So 30 games in and he has been shite for 29.7 of games. What was the 0.3 part of games he has been good in?

Weird starting line up....bit of a gamble?

We played 2 days ago and some of those playing were involved in that game. He could hardly start the same players. And having no time in between means they won't have had much preparation for the specific game.

Tranmere had a free weekend which meant they looked better organised in the 1st half. Even then we missed so many chances (including in the 1st half) that I don't think the formation can be blamed for tonight.

Player ratings (and I’m doing these on tonight’s performance only, not our whole season, before anyone starts getting upset)

Eastwood: 6 - Couldn’t do much for either of the goals, made a good double save at one point and was off his line quicker. Stevens still looks a better, more agile keeper for me but can’t really blame Simon for what happened tonight

Hanson: 4 - He can’t position himself as a right back. He looks slow, unsure and gives the ball away. He can only play in midfield for us.

Moore: 6 - Solid enough

Grayson: 3 - Shaky performance, poor passing and too slow on the ball. Maybe he’d be better at left back or in midfield?

Ruffels: 4 - He made so many mistakes, was at fault for the first goal (although it was handball) and generally didn’t play well, didn’t pass well and couldn’t defend. Nearly scored with a great flick though!

Gorrin: 5 - Looked tired. Not his usual self.

Sykes: 5 - I thought he worked hard but again looked leggy and tired. Not surprising given he hasn’t played for ages then suddenly is thrown in to two games in a couple of days.

Henry: 3 - He could barely control the ball and at one point hit a pass to Ruffels out from about 5 yards away. Looked completely out of sorts. He surely can’t start on Saturday - can he?

Shodipo: 6 - Worked hard, won free kicks, got a player booked, put one decent ball right across goal. Didn’t get given the ball enough.

Hall: 3 - Apart from winning a free kick and getting a player booked I can’t think of much else good he did. How can him being in the team ahead of Dan Agyei be justified? If he does play, he needs to be in the number 10 role behind the striker as he simply cannot play on the wing any more.

Taylor: 3 - Not his night, took a terrible penalty and then had so many good chances that he’d usually snaffle up in a heartbeat. His passing wasn’t on it either. Worrying if he continues this form.

Subs:

Brannigan: 5 - He was far better than Henry but didn’t set the game alight. Still nowhere near back to his best

Atkinson: 6 - Great run to win the penalty and was chalk and cheese to Grayson

Forde: 6 - Did ok, some good balls in and a few decent set pieces. I see him as first reserve for RB and CM positions

Barker: 6 - Some good runs and one great cross which Taylor nearly scored from

Winnall: 5 - Can’t remember him doing much

So 30 games in and he has been shite for 29.7 of games. What was the 0.3 part of games he has been good in?
Oh stop being a pedant. He’s played well in 3 games all season. That is just not good enough. You can climb up his ass all you like but if we want to go up, he cannot start in the form he is in! It’s that simple. He was awful tonight.

I’ve been fighting you about this recently, on the performance of Henry tonight I concede that was shocking.

I still believe he’ll contribute to our run in, but he’s out of the first 11 now IMO

Doesn’t that also apply to our main goal scorer Taylor because on tonight showing he couldn’t hit a cows a**e with banjo

Horrible to watch and some very poor performances but would rather have lost this than Saturdays game. Fair play to Tranmere who looked a decent team and their club deserve a bit of good fortune after the unfair decision last season so I hope they go on to win it.
I just hope the negativity from tonight doesn’t derail our season. Tonight’s performance shows how quickly form can turn.

Hanson doesn’t deserve the criticism really. There are others who do.

Hanson just isn’t quick nor dynamic enough to be a RB every game. He can fill in from time to time but he’ll never bomb forward.
Neither is forde.
