And with all the profit TfL made last year shame on them

You mean negative profits, yes?

And the year before, oh it will be negative profits again:

Note, the problem is being exacerbated by the phased withdrawal of funding by Central Govt (ended in 2018/19) yet in this pandemic the Govt has required TfL to continue to operate. Leaving TfL as one of the few City Transport Authorities without state support. Also, Khan freezing fares exacerbated the problem as well.

So how do you square that with all the private enterprises that made a profit in previous years but have been bailed out (furloughed staff etc) then as you mentioned that earlier as a good thing iirc?

So all the other transport companies up and sown the country did they get any help? They ran maybe not all services but they ran amiss they get any help? Maybe all council tax can rise to cover the shortfalls of those that sort companies and there have been a few coach companies that have gone to the wall during the pandemic.

Hope this is what you were looking for

Bazzer, the bit I'm interested in, is where you said that disabled people will have to pay the congestion charge. As I said, I'm not saying that I don't believe you, but I cannot see anything about disabled people being made to pay the charge, on Khan's orders. Can you show me please? I am disabled and go through London quite a bit.

I am going to have to apologise I am sure I heard it mentioned a while back pre pandemic I thought it was some time when Khan announced that when he was going to review the congestion charged but having searched high and low I cannot find anything other than a 100% discount.
I was in the wrong so once again I apologise.

Google the FT article as the link (I could read it) hasn't worked unfortunately and the quote is about City transport Authorities (I'd assume Manchester, Newcastle etc), not all transport companies. Coach companies do get some subsidy from Local Authorities to keep certain routes open already. But it doesn't change the point about profits for TfL as they have no subsidy anyway in this period (19/20) when they'll make a £742m deficit (according to the article) so no shame on TfL needing support like private organisations who did make profits. The only difference is the Govt putting putting political caveats on TfL unlike their other support, I wonder why that is?

An interview with David Lammy and it is a good listen especially on "white privilege" and white people who won't have seen any privilege. It is an hour long but worth it.

Makes this an even more selfless act then

Because everyone goes out for a peaceful demo wearing a helmet & goggles I guess?
Or are we just seeing black guy, "must be BLM"................. so white guy must be "Any other pseudo political right leaning group that were there for a ruck" ?
All as bad as each other, every single one of them.

No problem, Baz. I wasn't challenging you, I was thinking 'f*****g Khan had better not get rid of the discount!' So I owe him one, too!

Decide for yourself . .. if you've not done so already:

The urinating on a monument idiot has got a 2 week jail sentence - swift and right justice

Agree.

But what has being a Spurs fan got to do with the story?

Prosecutor Michael Mallon said Banks, a Tottenham Hotspur fan, was in central London to "protect statues", but admitted he did not know which statues.

Two weeks is laughable.
I think we all saw his defence would be he was paralytic and had anxiety issues.
didn't happen to be a Swindon fan then?
