International News Black Lives Matter

No idea... I hadn’t realised they were being scrapped.
They haven’t been scrapped it’s what the remainers think may happen, it may or not happen but it hasn’t happened yet so we will have to wait until January of next year when we’ve officially left the EU.

So he increased the charges he increased the time that its operational and now includes weekends, and yes we will be in austerity again when this over ffs it’s the only way we will be able to get out of the recession
Never said we wouldn't. Having to reintroduced congestion charge so quickly if probably the first clear example of this. The point was your are wrong to try and pin this on Khan (to take it back to your original post).

The only part of TFL that was a loss make was the bus company the underground was in profit, so my argument is with any company ( and I know at this point it can’t be helped at this moment in time )if there is a part which is making a profit and another part isn’t surely then one must help the other. I understand that it’s a tough time and the govt has helped businesses, I do understand that TfL were asked to keep going for essential workers. The other argument of course and I heard this on the news a while back and have no links but it was said that some companies that were already struggling before the lock down were asking for more support by using bill s**t to enhance their payout.

It was doing well- until Covid-19 when income fell. the government imposed sanctions, which included stopping free fares for under 18's and the elderly

There's a very good Channel 4 interview with the bloke in the first photo on Channel 4 News this evening

Meanwhile from a letter to the Guardian.

F "I suggest Bristol replaces Edward Colston w a different statue every day to honour an individual whom Colston “shipped”. It would be 233 years before the plinth became empty again. That is the enormity of the man’s inhumanity."

And there was I thinking he was caring, congestion charge was 5 days a week from 0700 - 1800 now Khan as soon as the ease of lockdown was announce it became 7 - 22.00 7 days a week and no exemptions for disability the bloke doesn’t give a s**t about disabled

SO after years of wrangling and negotiating, after countless billions lost on the economy and all the attention directed on this breakup, you are suggesting that the UK may not actually seek to cut some of the red-tape derived from Brussels? Why the f**k would we leave then, Baz? :ROFLMAO:

Think you need help, too, mate. If you don't like women maybe it's time to be open about your sexuality. We're all understanding here and Basham was a handsome chap

Haha is this what it's come to? Calling me gay? Brilliant stuff.

Well the BLM marchers were a real mixture. Black, white, male and female - tending towards the younger end of society rather than the older but otherwise very mixed.

The racists on the other hand were noticeably NOT such a mixture. I am not sure that the fact the media commented on it is particularly significant - any one with eyes to see would have noticed and mentioned it.

I am a white male - I don't feel threatened by the first group at all. The second group on the other hand are vile, and part of me cringed when they were described as 'football supporters'.

I'm not sure why you think yourself vicariously liable for the actions of other football supporters? To be a "Football supporter" hasn't been a dirty identity since I've been watching/attending.

It was a general term used by the press for a lot of the 80s in an extremely negative way, must admit I also felt very annoyed by the use of 'football fans' when talking about the problems over the weekend.

It'll be a generational thing, the term hasn't been used in that way for a while. Not helped by the Football Lads Alliance (or whatever their correct title is) bringing back the negative connotations.

I've heard the FLA mentioned several times recently. Presumably these people are what used to be called 'high risk fans', most likely to cause / look for trouble at football matches in other times, now seemingly happy to attach to any old demonstration in the hope of violence. Clearly in the upper echelons of the moron fraternity. Actually makes you shake your head when you think about it.

I don't think I am liable. Far from it.

But in recent years supporting football has thrown off the negative connotations it had in the past. That's not an era I want to go back to.

No it won’t go back to the old ways but there will be changes everyone knows that.

Just trying to find an explanation for your odd remarks about the impending "feminist uprising".

There may be others of course but unlike being gay they would be something to be embarrassed about.

See there’s been an arrest and rightly so.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the urinating oaf was pissed out of his head and had no idea where he was and this was not a deliberate act. I bet that’s what gets argued in court. (In fact I bet he can barely read. )

There are of course no public conveniences open in London at the moment.
some of the right-wing commentators have already been saying he was pissing to the side of the monument, not actually on it, so he wasn't doing anything wrong...sigh.

Look at the date, Bazza. That's before the Covid lockdown.
I know but look at the profit they made before the lockdown, in business you have to utilise your profits if one arm of your business is struggling.

poor effort at backtracking there.

i'd expect less homophobia from someone with your political alignment, to be honest.
