Heard from someone today that Dickie to Derby is done deal. Didn’t get a figure! IF he’s going then I hope it’s around £3M with add on’s

Not wishing to sound a know it all but I do have a contact who is associated with Dickie on a professional level and as I understand the situation there is genuine championship interest in him but Dickie is concerned that he’d spend too much time on bench in the championship and is leaning towards staying, at least in this window. He’s genuinely enjoying the rich form he's in and also the team. Those closest to him are favouring seeing the season through with us, see where Oxford are come May and then review the situation again. It was also mentioned to me that Dickie is not a good substitute. In other words, unlike some footballers, he takes it badly if he isn’t selected to start.

Seeing what happened to Nelson, maybe given him thought?

His contract is up so would we get nothing or some credit as he’s under 25?

Can’t be bothered to go through the whole thread but didnt Mackie win us the game by winding up the fat lad? Deserved his win bonus.?
Imagine having to watch Wycombe every week. Fit, well drilled, fast, and yes, successful , but where’s the joy in watching that style?

Thought we did well to hold them off in last 20 as we were running on fumes. Excellent well timed substitutions by Robbo. Cadden was exceptional today; so calm in possession, we are going to miss him.
COYY. ✊

It was good to see the team play at the dark arts and put Wycombe on edge - Akinfenwa was very silly today, 2 bookings for things he didn't need to get involved in. The first card was a silly one and he seemed rattled by how we were playing and the general attitude of those around him. Jombati is a dirty little sod, for a player who doesn't like being fouled or being given physicals, he loves giving it out. I'm glad Mackie didn't give him an out in the 2nd half for the cheeky stuff at a corner - he must have been one of those bullies at school who gave it out but cried to the teacher the first time someone does it back.

As for us, we missed Rodriguez once he went off - Baptiste is good player, but he wanted too long on the ball to get it moving, one for him to learn on. But, it was the right call after Bloomfield did his best to get the game to 10 a piece with that lovely dive of his. I thought the swap of Henry and Sykes made us look a better outfit.

Ainsworth has done well to get Wycombe where they are, but by god, it would test the patience of a saint seeing that week after week. I did laugh at their keeper's 'tude with some fans when the crowd kept the ball. For a keeper who wastes so much time, I thought he'd have a better sense of humour when the crowd did it. Total ? end

A decent comment of their forum.

Not too despondent either. We were beaten by a very good side. Not sure that we would have got much more out of the game even with 11 men. We showed plenty of spirit in the second half, but I thought they always had the edge and we did well to restrict them to just one.

Another one of their forum he must be blind.

Poor support from Oxford today I thought. It really is a dead stadium in terms of atmosphere. Great support from Wycombe fans today -

The Dickie stuff is hardly insider knowledge, its all over the internet if you google it. But if dickwalton's knowledge is correct, then that is good to know. It would make sense for him to stay on and solidify his reputation.

Before the game started, me and those around me were wondering how Wycombe had changed from the previous times they'd played us. Turns out they play long ball football and try to bounce it off Mr 'Muscles' to another player much like they always did, but do it a bit better. I couldn't watch that tripe every week and can't really believe they are where they are in the table. They didn't close us down at all, we had acres of space in the middle of the pitch. Akinfenwa paid the price of his first very stupid booking (what was he thinking?) and his inability to control himself a little later. I have to admit that I didn't think Gorrin's tackle was even a foul and the Wycombe players only started making a fuss when the bloke who was tackled started rolling about in 'agony' - which healed remarkably quickly.

Generally I thought the ref managed to spot most of the diving and injury feigning by Wycombe and had a decent game.

Why was their keeper wasting time all game - even when they were losing, down to ten men and still doing it when there was only ten minutes to go? Very odd indeed.

We controlled the match - a bit shot shy several times and our pace dropped noticeably as the game went on. Still, back to winning ways and now Boxing Day to look forward to.

Nelson started the last couple of games (including today). Whyte an unused sub though
Yes but I wonder if having to wait until December for two starts in a row (following injury to the regular centre back) has made Dickie think about what a move to the Championship would mean for him.

Top of the league? but....

I have to admit that the chairboys are very good at what they do.Top because they are well drilled. Shame it's not the slightest bit 'good to watch' nor is it football. I'd hate to have to watch that sh*te every week.

From our perspective it was a pleasant change to see a fair referee who was not easily conned (or blatantly biased) we don't often get them at the Kashstad. Giving the first free kick against wycombe after about 30 seconds sort of gives us hope, I guess.

All in all not a bad game, they defended well, Fekkin Enwa got what he deserved ....but we need to do some shooting training. 80% possession and only 1 goal is not really good enough...

Oh, it must have been nice for them to see a crowd though....

Have a happy Christmas
