In a transfer window where we've gone for young players with potential, but also games under their belts, we can afford to take the odd gamble. If fit, and back to the form shown earlier in his career, Thorne could be a class above this league. And as long as wages aren't ridiculous, then it's not a position that would leave us short if he can't play every game.

I would guess that we would look at a season long loan with a very to make it permanent in January if he stays fit. We get a try before we buy, and Derby get some of his wages covered and then off the books in January.

Just watched the highlights of him in the preseason game for Derby mentioned in the report. Think he's number 34 (second half only). Looks imobile but clearly still has a good touch and range of passing. Would be a big risk and would need games to give him a chance of getting back to his best.

Any idea when this announcement is going to happen, apparently it now has to be before 12.30 to enable said announcement to play tomorrow whereas it used to be 1700, so with just under 2.5 hours to go I hope the Klaxon is going to sound.

A bit odd that Tiger said the player was having a medical last night. “As we speak” But the signing isn’t announced yet? Surely if a striker is coming in now he is fit and ready to go and you want him in the squad for tomorrow?

Deals can be done long before they're announced. Fosu was announced when the team were in Portugal but the media photo was taken at the training ground a week before!

As for the deals done yesterday at short notice, do you really think they all happened in the blink of an eye or maybe they were being talked about for weeks, just like our deals!

I’m not to concerned if the new strikers can play tomorrow or not. If Mackie is ok and fit I’d play him. He put in a great shift last week, and if he can do that again I’d be very pleased. I believe we can get 3 points without any new faces tomorrow.

It’s what tiger said on Radox last night, basically player had come down for a medical and it would be announced today, I only enquires anyone have an idea alas to what time. So if fbs were told different are we back to bull s**t

A bit pissed off to learn we missed out on Lukaku. Would have done well for us but if he wants to play for some tin pot club like inter Milan for a cowboy manager, instead of an amazing club and world class manager so be it.
