I agreeI’d like Evans to sign but either permanently or on a year long loan, with no recall. 6 month deals are distracting and of little value to OUFC.
I agree, I know we have to accept that short term loans are a way of life for lower league clubs these days but I’ll be disappointed if we’re going down that route for such an important position in the team. To me it’ll indicate that we’ve admitted defeat in our ability to sign a striker permanently. IF the rumours are true, we could have both Cadden and Evans here until January and then disappearing leaving us needing to rebuild again. And how committed are they going to be knowing they’re only here for a few months?I’d like Evans to sign but either permanently or on a year long loan, with no recall. 6 month deals are distracting and of little value to OUFC.
Apart from Findlay being a decent player. I believe that the reason we're willing to pay a decent fee is to recoup any future sales fee.So as it stands it appears that, if reports have any truth, we’re going down the route of shelling out half a million on a CB while bringing in a CF on a six month loan. That would make it very clear where our priorities seem to lie. I wonder if it would be best to go for two players worth 200 - 250k each rather than possibly blowing our budget on the defender? Again, it’s only conjecture as things stand, but just wondered what other people’s thoughts on it are?
How would that work? I think loans have to run from Aug to Jan and Jan to End of Season. He can’t leave in March when their season starts and they would surely want him back for PST.Also, if we are looking at a loan deal for Cadden then we might only lose him for the last few games but save £200k+ on the compensation fee. Not ideal, but also pretty good use of our finances if we spend elsewhere.

Right, heres a hypothesis. Say both Evans and Cadden sign on six-month loans, yet in the time whilst they're playing for us they propel us up the table, making us an attractive club to join in January. Signing both for the short term isn't ideal, but there is scope for Evans signing for longer as League One is probably his level, and it's not like Cadden will be slacking off if he signs for us.
