There wouldn’t be a lot of posts if it was only people posting facts on here, the ox mail said the club interested in players, that’s only speculation that’s followed up on here with would they or wouldn’t they be any good for the team.

There are posters on this forum that do know things. Oxford United, like most football clubs, is as watertight as a sieve. It is very easy to judge between those worthy of believing and those who are purely speculating or recycling nonsense from social media bots.

As for proof, no one is likely to dump someone in the crapper to satisfy the needs of correspondents on this forum. Believe what you want to believe but don't assume that there aren't people who know more than you or I.

I get your point but It would be nice for people to support their statements with at least a little bit of fact, without getting them in the shiz. We could all post hyperbole and then those that do truly know more than most will get lost among those that dont.

I’m not knocking Robinson or the club - recruiting is a challenging business - but I do think that we have to accept that this is again proving to be a difficult summer. The most optimistic of supporters would probably have to accept that the plan was to have more than one player signed by now. As I say, not a dig, there’s no doubting that Robinson is working his balls off trying to get players to join. Hopefully a few more will come in this week before they fly off to the training camp.

I think the hope was that, given our now improved situation re-investors and board members that we would be an attractive proposition for players...I can understand that clubs loaning out prospects would rather move them about for experience (unless they are unofficial loan-to-buys) but I was hopeful that, for permanent signings like Cadden/Fosu...we might have been able to make competitive offers and offer real prospects. To lose out to a Doncaster or similar is disappointing to say the least. Appreciate there are other factors that play into this.

Agreed. At one stage I had 2 good sources and used to find out all sorts of interesting stuff before the rabble. Rarely bothered to post it to here get some sort of ego/dopemine hit at the expense of my source. I now know nobody and nothing and couldn’t even tell you an Oxford Mail rumor or the price of a ticket.

Yes and no. We might well have signed a few more, but if we get the right ones it really doesn’t matter if they were two weeks ago or next week. The fact is even player that we know are gone like nelson haven’t yet due to most contract running to the end of this month, and a lot of players still on holidays

I’m sure there are people who have inside info but the trouble is that they are swamped by the attention-seeking kids. Maybe there should be a rating system where people get points for posting rumours that turn out to be true

Aren't you already compromising your "source" to some degree by posting rumours on here for attention?
Did your source give you permission to post this information on the forum, which presumably they shared in confidence?

Unfortunately this summer is following the same pattern as last year.If what EC says is true and I am inclined to believe him there is a problem at the club. This certainly is not a criticism of KR however at what point do we discuss salary with a player?
What is the point of agreeing terms with Motherwell or any club for that matter if the player or his agent isn’t 100 per cent sure he likes what we offer.
This seems to have happened too many times in the last year.

Also think we need to keep Whyte on the wing and bring in another striker in addition to Sinclair.
