Away Match Day Thread +++ 02/02/2019 Burton Albion v OUFC match day thread +++

Disappointed but 4 unbeaten, bring on Sunderland, you just know we’ll win .

Pretty poor result again glad I haven't wasted any money on OUFC since Wimbledon away. I know KR seems to have Tigers ear but the time to get rid was long ago. Where are the strikers? Unbalanced squad the KR built. We are seriously at risk of going down something that has been obvious all season but tiger cant see it from Thailand.
Only go to matches when we're winning every week then? Nice!

Sometimes it's more difficult playing against 10 men than 11. Changes the complexion of the game.

Anyone else think they should change the rules so that when there's a last man foul like the one today the fouled team gets the option of red card or a penalty? Sinclair was practically in the box when he was deliberately hauled back, playing against 10 men doesn't gift you back the scoring opportunity you had created, especially when that 10 are just going to sit behind the ball for the rest of the game
Good idea not heard this before ?

Did you go to our last two home games?
Yes I did, and a poor team in comparison to the Two last opponents at home and with 10 men for
79 mins and we couldn’t win ffs. We need tiger and Robinson out as if we’re relegated which looks pretty good, then watch the free fall

Maybe I’m missing your point?

I’m looking at it for what it is. We’ve been in a relegation battle from day one. We are in the bottom 4. I’m worried about relegation, yes.
No 100%, we're in the relegation zone for a reason and it's been a trying season. I just think the implication that we're going to get steamrollered by Sunderland is kind of deliberately pessimistic given the standard of opposition we have played and (at least should have) beaten in our last two home games.

Well it’s an away point, even if they did have 10 men for most of the game so it does have the feel of a missed opportunity given our away record.

On the away record, not winning today means we will have obviously not won on our travels this season into the second half of February, we will have only won once away in 12 months (Doncaster away last minute) and only two away wins in 14 and a bit months, all the way back to a trip to Plymouth in November 2017. Although we have picked up a fair few draws, win wise that is desperately poor and throws up the interesting fact that we have won as many away games in the last 14 months against Karl Robinson as with him (beat his Charlton a year ago), despite the fact he has been here for 20 away games now.

Fair play to our fans who travel away, not been getting much for the effort recently.

We are and I rather suspect that is where we will stay.
I lost hope before the match started when RadOx said Gobbo had reverted to his bloody silly 4-2-3-1 formation

Did we not create more clear chances with that formation in the first half, than with the 4-4-2 in the second?

Where did I mention steamrollered?. Sunderland are one of the best teams in the league and a much better team than Burton. That was my only point. We play them next week and we are sat in the relegation places. It’s hard not to be worried.

I’ll always try and find the positives, including against Barnsley, but today I’m not a Happy Clapper.

The next three games Sunderland, Peterborough and Accrington I hope I’m wrong but i think 9 points dropped

We obviously don’t practice shooting
Poor efforts on goal,
with 2 very good saves by their goalie, plus awful corners by us

A football club doesn’t practice shooting. Sure about this?
