In reference to comments and discussions regarding the financial viability of any club sacking any manager, let alone KR / OUFC:
It’s virtually unheard of for a compensation clause to be any more than 12 months’ salary, regardless of duration. Usually that is even tempered by the club saying that the compensation stops in the event that the manager takes another job within those 12 months. Hence why further up the chain where you’re talking millions, a lot of managers wait many months if not an entire year before taking another job. At this level and below it’s a little different because the money isn’t anywhere near as big, and therefore having a job is preferable to sitting on a severance agreement that is constantly counting down. It’s incredibly rare that a lump sum is handed over which allows a manager to walk into a job the next day. They’re basically just kept on the payroll and paid their salary as normal for 12 months, or until they take another job, whichever comes first.
Any manager at any level with a contract that differs to the above has got an agent who is very adept at removing underpants.
