Transfer News Transfer window 2020/21

"We know where we need to strengthen and we've got several candidates on our list who we are looking at. Obviously this doesn't just depend on us though, there is the player, his agent, the selling club and the current COVID situation to take into account as well. Also, we know that the transfer window is a long one, the importance is the right player for Oxford United, not rushing into things. We are all confident that the squad at the end of the window will be stronger than at the beginning"
You forgot “and I love winding the forum up on purpose”

surely this goes without saying though?

Does anyone else miss the days of teletext and clubcall for your gossip on transfers, it was a lot more bearable than sifting through this thread.

Yep. So much so that every ten seconds I turn my monitor off for sixty seconds.

In League One since the window opened, clubs have done the following recruitment:

- 10 clubs have yet to bring anyone in.
- Amongst the other 14 clubs, there have been 20 in's.
- Swindon the busiest with three in, then four clubs (Burton, Charlton, Doncaster and MK Dons) have brought in 2 players. (so 11 of those 20 in's are split between 5 clubs).
Thought I'd do an update on the state of play in League One with 10 days of the window to go

- 4 clubs have yet to bring anyone in: Crewe, Oxford, Peterborough and Rochdale.

- Amongst the other 20 clubs, there have been 39 in's.
4 in: Burton, Swindon.
3 in: Gillingham, Hull, MK Dons, Northampton.
2 in: Bristol Rovers, Charlton, Doncaster, Ipswich, Plymouth
1 in: AFC Wimbledon, Accrington, Blackpool, Fleetwood, Lincoln, Portsmouth, Shrewsbury, Sunderland, Wigan

Would be interesting to know how many of these signings were in our sights.

Quite a few of these transfers were necessary due to on loan players being recalled or upward sales so in general most of the clubs are potentially weaker.
With some exception of course.

Lets see. And not lose sight of the fact that with a couple of injuries in a thin squad, we very easily could be again.
Easily be in a relegation fight with a couple of injuries?
Are you serious? Even if both keepers were injured we could get an emergency one in. We hopefully have CB and SW coming back from injury
To put it all into perspective we probably need 18 to 20 points from 26 games to stay up.
So win 6 draw 2 and lose 18 games and we would probably stay up.
And yet you suggest that we could 'very easily ' be in a relegation fight with a couple of injuries? Really?

Ah. But how many of those teams had Jamie Hanson?
