No it wasn't its 1.25 million.
I'll be honest, in the current state of football finances, I actually think that's a good price for a player of his ability.

If we did well in the Championship a PL club would think nothing of picking him up for 10m, that's small money to any PL team these days.

Yeah I know but have a same pint here and up north 2 different tastes probably depends on where its brewed and the water 💧 quality 😀 😉 🤔

You can't have our local brewed ale up north. Fosters tastes of P**s where ever you drink it. 😀 prefer a decent Somerset cider myself so up north isn't for me. Its cold, they talk funny, full of homeless people and some of the estates make Jaywick look inviting.

That plus Yates , Robinson and Thorniley then we can talk

Think 1 million plus Thorniley and Robson may get us asking Cam if he wants to go. People under estimate what Thorniley bought to the team this season.

Sounds like parts of Pompey lol

There's no chance we will be able to agree personal terms with Robson in such a short time-frame.

Is Cam on the bus to Wigan? I guess they’re on their way now!

Players reporting to the hotel later on this evening to prep for the Wigan game.

Believe Brannagan has spent a bit of time around his family since the weekend game. Nothing has changed from the club or his stance on a move.

I don't think its as simple as that, we have Thorniley and potentially Robson to use as a swap deal, which means the release clause is effectively pointless in the negotiations. Additioanlly, we've sold a few players and taken some off the books, most likely to free up funds for an improved offer - we're in a slightly different position now than when the first bid came in.

I go back to the same point though, we must be getting something back from these bids otherwise we wouldn't bother pursuing. I know you guys are adamant about meeting the release clause otherwise he isn't for sale, but judging by the 4th (I think) bid coming in so soon after the last, and the time its taking to reject, it doesn't feel like the shop is shut - but who knows.
Half agree. If you're looking to use players as well then it definitely muddies the water, however if we take as read that the clause is £1.25m then any deal, whether involving players coming this way or not, will have to be worth more than that as our value of Cam is higher, plus there's less than 7 hours left of the window to replace him.

As an aside I wouldn't particularly want Thorniley permanently. I'd rather we'd kept him on loan so that we've actually got a fifth defender in the building but from what I've seen of him I wouldn't want him in the Championship and I don't even think he's in our strongest 11, although there are differing opinions on this. I wouldn't be devastated if we got him of course but it seems we're spending some money and I'm sure we could get better.

I think we'd all be more impressed with Thorniley if we weren't spoilt by the technical talens of Atkinson and Dickie in recent years.

We've had some properly good centre backs in recent years, add Nelson and Dunkley to the list.
