Transfer News Transfer window 2020/21

Is anyone credible outside of this board mentioning any interest in Gavin Whyte? He’s on twice what he would earn here at Cardiff, why on earth would he come?

Not got a clue if their is anything in it but I can give 3 reasons why he would come here

- He never plays for Cardiff

- He will still be on that money here, but we will be paying some of it so Cardiff will be saving money

- He is good enough to play every week here, that might increase his profile so that Cardiff can offload him next season.

Ah - yes a loan might be feasible, my comment was more in relation to a permanent move. However, there has been no suggestion from the club that he is in their sights and have we in the past decade taken a player on loan who we previously sold? One for the stattos

He’s going nowhere playing for Cardiff?he went at least a season too soon.

Isn’t being fast and scoring brilliant goals valued in the championship? Cardiff must have great wingers if he can’t get a game.

This transfer window will be really interesting to see if we can really kick on. If we can sign 3 or 4 players to replace moose, cooper, hall and sykes / kelly that can really push to be in the starting 11 and ideally better than our starting 11 then i think we have a chance of the playoffs. While our form is really good we havent beaten any of the better sides in this division. Burton, northampton, swindon were attrocious and we didnt have it easy against wimbledon or plymouth. Admittedly we played pretty well against hull and portsmouth. When we start beating the petetboros, hulls and sunderlands etc then i will start believing.

I don’t have a clue if he is a viable move, it won’t be a permanent one if it does happen but I can’t see why a loan couldn’t happen, on paper it actually makes a bit of sense, he is a good player who would improve us and would fit in quickly having been here, he likes it here and didn’t era want to go by all accounts and Cardiff don’t seem to have much use for him and will want him off the wage bill so need him playing some where to get some attention.

A loan to us makes sense to all parties if we can agree on our contribution to his wages.

I thought KR mentioned being interested in Whyte in an interview not so long ago when it became clear that he was potentially available.

But that's the model the club subscribes to. Young player, playing consistently well, catches the eye of a championship side and he's sold, aka Baptiste. Just because we have one player who has had a few good games doesn't mean to say that you don't look at bringing quality in that position.
That maybe the case as much as I like Sam Long I can’t see him being a big draw financially abs with our squad being reduced next season I’m sure the club are looking at that, do we need to bring in Cadden? We have Long, Forde and even Clare that can play at RB

A slight curveball suggestion for a defensive signing but how about Liam Lindsay?

We almost signed him a few years ago and he seems to have been frozen out at Stoke.

Don’t think he’ll be dropping down without almost guaranteed game time, at the minute I don’t think he’d be getting that. The defence is finally getting better by the game it would be very brave or stupid to change it now. Think we will sign a centre half but will be one for the future probably.

Or a right back who could then allow Long to shuffle across if needed.

Will be interesting to see who goes this month as much as who arrives. Also intrigued to see what happens going forward with some of the players who are out of contract in the summer. Players like Ruffels, Forde, Henry etc.

A QPR supporting mate did say yesterday he thinks he will be coming back as selling an attacker and no money .....I wouldn't think his overall play is good enough for championship yet tbh but 20/30 cameos and he knows where the net is !

I think Mido would get completely bullied in the championship atm, he’s got a lot to learn and we’re a very good fit for him atm. Although he may not get as much game time should we sign another two wingers.

4 games ago most on here thought he was rubbish and wanted him sent back.not consistent enough to play in the championship or even in an off form team.
