He is inexperienced at playing as a winger. He is a forward. Its like getting a builder to do a carpenters job. Now Karl won't change his formation to suit where players can play to the best of their ability.

I don't think we have a bad team and it would be interesting to see what another manager at the helm would be able to achieve with a formation/tactics tweek.
This is what i don't get with comments like this, i've stated many times Agyei with Long Sykes Henry have all linked up well down the right and Agyei and Taylor worked well together reading one another, knowing when and which runs to make so he has shown he can play there.

No chance Tiger sacks him. It’ll cost too much. Plus they’re more like mates than employee employer.

I don’t blame Robinson I think he’s a good manager but he needs to take control of the recruitment. We’re never ready to go at the start of the season. Taking ages to get deals done. We’re signing more duds and crocks than super stars. The side is unbalanced with inadequate cover in key areas. Whilst others are overloaded.
I wonder if what you say about Tiger and KR being more like mates is replicated throughout. I see how much KR cares for the squad and protects them, he is rightly aware of and concerned for their mental health especially in the current crisis. But there needs to be a decent distance between Gaffer and players so that when they need a right dressing down they get it and respect it.

You’re not alone;
I was absolutely spitting feathers at the end of the game, furious at such a heartless capitulation, to Swindon of all people.
I closed up the laptop, and was brought crashing back to earth when I saw that 479 more people had died from COVID-19.
For all the joy this game gives us, and all the disappointments, remember it’s just a game.
Its a good point. Those death numbers are horrific. For me, its the opposite in a way. Football should be a release from the horror show that is the Pandemic, 90 minutes of watching your team play their hearts out for the pride of the shirt, give the fans something to cheer. Lots of those fans worrying about jobs, health, family, the future. 90 minutes of respite.

Our motley crew and Robbo with the most secure job in England delivered "that" today. They could not give a shite.

Stevens must start v Ipswich. Shodipo, Aygei & Sykes dropped from the squad for the game. Give Clare, Forde & Hall a chance the 3 subs after their showing today. Team for 60 minutes were very good.
I would not be that dramatic. Shodipo has generally done well for us and is young so will blow hot and cold. Aygei has also done well including against Pompey only a matter of days ago. We were already sitting back when they came on and we need their pace going forward. Sykes is the one I struggle with the most. So much technical ability but so little end product.

Post of the day GUK , simply put .

Biggest game of any season playing them ...
How many times do we ridicule opposition fans by saying a game at home to Oxford is their fa cup final/biggest game of the season ?. Yet here is a comment saying just that... Need to find some dignity here.

Oh , so not my last post .
Oh , let’s do this the modern snowflakes way . Oh it doesn’t matter , you did your best but lost to a second rate team , it is fine , have a extra day off and try to recover , I know it must be difficult been paid to play football under such different and difficult times. And it’s not your fault you don’t understand the history or the rivalry of this one off game. X
I would still say the beer has already kicked in!!

Don't be a mug , this means the most to both sets of supporters , what so it's ok to lose to them ??? You cannot compare with any other side .
Losing to Crewe was dismal ....this hurts and is shameful 100 × worse because it's them.

we we doing it from the first whistle though and for all the anticipated calmness that you suggest we would still have kept doing it....my point was he wasn't needed because they were shite never looked liked scoring and only saw the ball because we couldn't pass to a team mate.

As is the norm on here we lose a game of football and why wasn't x y z playing....it was said on here after Pompey forde was shite yet today he was needed....You even mentioned yourself that Taylor should have gone off but this place would have been in even more meltdown if he was and the result was the same.

as i'm always saying it's a game of opinions but people calling for the manager to go because his subs today didn't workout yet only a few days ago his inspired substitutions turned the game our way against a fairly decent side.

i wont ever criticize anyone playing for Oxford and everyone blasting Easty but should it of ever got to that stage?
I suspect that you have already had a drink or two but, you are not making a great deal of sense with this post.
The performance today was so far below what we should accept and what this group of players should be capable of bringing to a game. Ok. the subs today didn't work, were they the right subs? And, if not not, why not?
It could and should be put forward that KR did not have his team set up to win this game. That his subs did not perform is still an indication of how his team is set up. I am not advocating the sacking of KR but, he should be put on notice. Get this team performing or face the consequences. Get the January recruitment right or, face the consequences.

To lose this game is not acceptable to us as fans. We can forgive a lot but, not this performance.

They does not work though does it unless it's a draw !

Shame you were "busy" Tuesday you would have seen that secure manager make some inspired subs that turned the game

The same manager that also produced a team to have the most ever shots against Peps golden team, got us away from the bottom when you charlie and a few others on here had us down despite myself and others pointing out that all those below us at the time had to go on an incredible winning run whilst we failed to do anything.
The same manager that led us to the Play Off final but just because we lost he bottled it is shite etc tec

What Odds you offering on us staying up out of interest?

Fully agree sir , let’s hope we can put this right in the 2nd leg of our cup final in March

Agyei has pace, and he came on when the defence was tired and weak. His starting position may have been wide, but he should have found himself through on goal with a little ingenuity and desire. I'm sorry, but it's difficult to defend his performance.

Agyei is a strange one, everytime he receives the ball. You have Gobbo shouting at him what to do. I've noticed it in a few games on ifollow. On Tuesday when he played through the middle he had the freedom to play and didn't have Gobbo in his ear. I reckon Agyei would be one of them players that in another team you wouldn't want to play against. We just don't play to his potential

Both players and manager should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves for that second half today. It was spineless rubbish that showed an almost complete inability to cope with any sort of pressure at all. Yet again the defence gave away a couple of cheap goals against a poor team - both will be fighting against relegation all season. There's no good in saying they miss the crowd - they are professional sportsmen who should be able to take a professional pride in what they do. If Shodipo thinks playing for us is somehow beneath him and he can amble about like that, I suggest he goes back where he came from.
After a close fought (but deserved) victory against the league whipping boys and a decent point on Tuesday we have slumped back to what is the norm since the first lockdown - poor defence, a lack of link up from front to back, not enough shots, awful passing and very little pace. The hard working players aren't skilful enough, and the 'flair' players can't seem to raise the enthusiasm to run around a bit.
If Robinson hadn't wangled that long deal, he'd be in severe trouble. I disliked him to start with and disagreed with much he did. But I thought he did 'OK' last season. Unfortunately he too has gone backwards this season, odd recruiting, strange team selections, late and dubious substitutions, bullshit bingo interviews... the whole lot. Why, I have no idea - but he needs to sort himself and the players out damned quickly or we are going to slide down the leagues. The Crewe performance and today's second half would have embarrassed a National League side.

In no way does a poor performance on a football pitch come anywhere close to resolving or easing people’s long term woes during this pandemic.

If you think 90 minutes of football and a win over Swindon is sufficient to give someone respite over the fear of losing their jobs, protecting their family or general concerns about the future, you are incredibly deluded.

People have lost loved ones to this virus, people have lost jobs to this virus, people are worried about what the future holds going into 2021.... Yet you think 90 minutes of football and a win over Swindon suddenly makes the world seem a better place.... Christ almighty.

We've gone with Gobbo have we??

Agyei went on the far side of the pitch and was still poor today. I'm accused of defending ROBBO but to think that a player gives up in a derby because the manager is shouting at him is one hell of a stretch!!!

You miss the point here. Yes we can rise above simple abuse post defeat, yes we can rally round and support our club, yes, and you might be right, we have a board that are, well, they are the board. BUT, to lose to the scum in the manner we did today is simply unacceptable. Full stop.
I'm not saying it's acceptable, KR wouldn't say it was, nor would any of our players. All I'm saying is let's not let one very painful defeat divert us from the direction we're heading in. We have a talented manager who I believe in whether he made a massive mistake today or not. Ultimately we all want the same thing which is a successful Oxford Utd and I'd rather have a manager with integrity, talent and who puts his heart and soul into our club than the potential alternatives. We shouldn't take him, our board or the culture of our club for granted whether we're winning or losing. Swindon are a great example of what a f*ck up a football club can turn into and imho we are a million miles away from that. I'd back KR, Easty and every one of our team who should have done better today because one shocking 2nd half performance doesn't change all the reasons I'm proud to be an Oxford fan.

No mate , the way we played was embarrassing. I am fed up with with it . May be you was not in the mixer between the 70s - 90s . I was ! this game matters make no f*****g mistake of that , more then any other game . The word was sorted on the terrace back then , so no mate no word to myself maybe you don’t have pride in who players for your team.
Lots of pride mate.... but given the shitfest we are dealing with in this world, losing a game of football to Swindon doesn’t even come close. I think people need a reality check.

Let me put a scenario to you... you retain your health and your job for the sake of losing a game of football to Swindon...... OR, you are offered a win against Swindon but a role of the dice as to the health of your family and friends and job security....

Tell me honestly.... what would you do? what choice would you make?

Fine - they were all awful, especially Sykes.

But it's the biggest, highest pressure game of the season. We're playing against a terrible team, and we just need to be resolute and see the game out.

KR has six outfield players on his bench - one with vast experience (Mous), two guys in the middle of their careers that have seen it all before (Hall, Forde) and three inexperienced youngsters.

And who does he bring on? He deserves every bit of flak that's going to head his way.
Very much agree with you. I’ve been too p*ssed off to post until now, truly calamitous last ten minutes, we needed experienced subs on to see the game out.

So far just this season we have tried playing Kelly as a holding midfielder yet he played in the Chamionship as a no 10. We have had the Clare right back fiasco and the Agyei winger experiment. We persist with Robbie Hall but unfortunately he is unlikely to return the level he once achieved. God knows where Sykes plays.
I think Robinson is very protective and loyal to his players which is an admirable quality but in many football clubs that gets you a P45. We still appear to be experimenting, not a great way to be trying to win football matches.

He throws them under the bus quick enough, to deflect criticism from himself. Today Sykes and Eastwood. The way he treated and spoke about Pekalski after a Plymouth game was pathetic. He had asked for a few days away to see his family, as he hadn't seen them over Christmas, or similar. Then asked if he would play for OUFC, Teflon replied that he had to learn to kick a ball first.
