Dear All,

Happy new year. I am involved in a university research project looking at the recent World Cup in Qatar and whether this was a highly unusual tournament, unlikely to be repeated, or the start of future World Cups loaded with political and social issues. To answer this, we have created a short survey that I hope you can spare a few minutes to share your views:

Thanks in advance for your time.

Done - reality is its all about the £££££££`s and nothing else.

Not sure about the premise that Qatar was the first “political” World Cup.

Fuck yeah. Question 1 "If global sports events like the World Cup and the Olympics become political, do you think this is a bad thing or something good that should be encouraged?" is a right headbanger. Anybody remember 1936? Russia's reward for fascist agression in 2018, the 'Commonwealth Games'?

It seems Teeside Academe has a sunny view of the world. Is Ben Houchen launching a bid for the winter olympics now that he's scammed millions for the taxpayer to his cronies? We should be told.
