Stanley Johnson (Boris’s dad) and Boris’s Brother the Lord Johnson of Marylebone were in the directors box yesterday, with some other smartly dressed guy who was in most of the selfies taken, no idea who sorry.

Marcus Browne was about 10 feet away, didn’t bat an eyelid.

That's where your story falls over. Can't believe the Johnson's wouldn't bat an eyelid being sat so close to Marcus Browne. 😉

Yes for sure A Space Odyssey type thing , old chap!

Well, that's created some froth for the lefties. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I did wonder how long it would take.
Stanley Johnson and his son were guests of Anindya Bakrie. It was a very busy Boardroom yesterday!

Think the Boardroom was busier than the East stand toilets on Saturday.
Nothing wrong with having levers in the right places IMHO.
Sometimes the greater good has to take priority.

I thought Stanley was Remain and Boris was Leave? ;)

I can't say I'm overly happy with having the Johnson clan involved too closely with the club but who is to say that they are? This could have simply been a corporate event in which Bakrie had something else to pitch to the Johnsons and meeting at the Kassam was the easiest and best place to do it ...

If it greases the wheels towards getting the new stadium, I may be willing to look the other way and accept that getting into bed with a Johnson is the way to do it (and we wouldn't be the first - nor last if BoJo fails to change a habit of a lifetime). I'd rather we kept this process clean from visible political interference if we can but beggars can't be choosers.

Make you right, its often about the network being built than the people in it as such and AB seems very skilled in that department.
Getting the right people in the room often overcomes many obstacles.

Fascinating times.

A bit more info ...

So a well educated, well traveled lad who both grew up in Oxford and went to Uni here. He can come again, just so happens his brother is PM.

"An investment banker by profession, Max is also a businessman with a wide range of interests including real estate investments, fitness clubs, and film production".

He's not, is he??

Would be a Politically Exposed Person and additional checks would be required by banks, solicitors, and the EFL if he were to be added to the board. Its taken long enough already...
