I realise many people don’t think much of xG (expected goals), and I think that’s fair over a short period of a game or two. However, I think over larger periods it does tend to show more.
Anyway, I’ve just seen the ‘xG table’ for league one so far this season, and I found it interesting so thought I’d share.
As you can see, Oxford are 7th which is somewhat surprising, and only our relegation rivals Accrington Stanley have a worse performance versus xG than us this season.
