Absolutely mental from all parties involved
Yep the s**t or bust approach from Wigan yet again. They haven't even bothered to try to learn from their recent bust. I fully expect Bolton to go down the same route soon as well.
Absolutely mental from all parties involved
Did we nearly go bust last season? Theres a difference between showing a level of ambition and paying someone 10k a week in League 1.I thought you wanted our rich owners to spend heavily on the team in this way? It does become hard to compete if other clubs are splashing out like this, though it seems crazy to me. Wigan have already got the good ground so can focus on promotion after being rather unjustly relegated.
How does all this work with the financial fair play stuff?
Accrington sign 22 yo striker Joel Mumbongo on a season long loan from Burnley.
Sunderland wanted to keep him and ge was looking to sign for a Championship club as a free agent.Wigan sign Charlie Wyke! There is some serious pisstaking going on this season after they could barely put out a team last season due to financial issues.

The fact that Wigan seem to have hijacked that is unbelievable.
The Pompey chairman was suggesting that Sunderland, Wigan and Ipswich are paying ridiculous amounts of money and even Pompey can't remotely compete
Let’s hope the FFP is looked at regarding these clubsSunderland wanted to keep him and ge was looking to sign for a Championship club as a free agent.

Wouldn’t have needed to pay for him he was that goodCambridge sign our ex-loanee 23yo striker Sam Smith from Reading on a free.
This is just one player and Wigan get crowds of what 7 000?A 3 year deal at 10k a week is the same sort of money we received for Atkinson. Not that over-priced (top scorer in L1) for a team looking to jump to the championship
In terms of recent history - decent PL club for a few years, FA Cup winners, good ground - they are a fairly big club, but as you say where are the fans? It's not looking very sustainable. This is just one player and Wigan get crowds of what 7 000?
A pretty huge amount for a club recently out of administration and with relatively small crowds
He didn't drink his milk!!Accrington sign 22yo forward Joe Hardy on a 2 year deal after his release by Liverpool.
Morecambe made lots of signings, good luck to them. Will surely be bottom thoughMorecambe sign 26yo left-back Greg Leigh after his release from Aberdeen.
