Did well tonight
Not really. It'd have been pointless paying a decent keeper good wages to sit on the bench for all of last season. Having him around gives us experienced backup and lets our two young keepers go out on loan to get match time. It's unfortunate for Eastwood to get a lengthy injury after being fit for the whole of last season, but at least it happened while the loan window was still open. The new guy sounded solid tonight, and being here till January means Eastwood doesn't have to be rushed back.Seems like about 10 minutes is his limit...
An absolutely pointless wage and ridiculous to give him another year.
So what would we have done if Eastwood had got a lengthy injury in September, October or November? Not really. #I get why it's good to have Shearer in the squad. He's got tonnes of experience, he can help with the coaching, and he's great for squad morale.
But Robinson said he's got back troubles, missed weeks of training, and can't be relied upon as a first team keeper.
So why was he on the bench again last night? How little must he think of Stevens that he can't trust him coming off the bench in a competition he didn't even seem to care too much about?
If these guys don't have enough experience, they have to get it somehow. Keep Shearer on the training ground, put Stevens on the bench.
Did well tonight
Doesn't seem to rate a lot of the kids who've previously had good reports for some reason - hope he's not listening to Faz too much....#
Maybe he... doesn't rate Jack Stevens.
