Sport is about kids playing, you know, getting them out of the flat/house and socializing; the other part is watching the best of the best play. There would be regional conferences, eventually in any case. Oxford United could be invited to play in the ESL eventually, I wouldn't be on here if I didn't believe that.

The people against the ESL are also stopping PSG, Rangers and Marseilles from achieving their potential.

It won’t happen

Get a grip

‘Sport is about getting kids out of the house’.. oh the irony when any ESL will be another Sky saturated event where plastic fans in their ‘big club’ football shirts will sit and watch it from their sofas.. Most have no idea what watching football live, at a ground, in the flesh, is all about.

I assume PSGsupporter lives in Paris and goes to see them live? I would hope so, otherwise he or she is completely missing out on what football is really about.

I support OUFC because it’s in my blood. My dad is a supporter and his dad before that. I hope PSG supporter isn’t a fan just because he likes Mbappe or the colours in the kit…

I know youve posted on here before PSG and there’s no animosity- maybe you do have true connections. I just don’t think a club like OUFC is the best place to come to try and drum up support for something that will kill grass roots football as we know it.

I've wanted an ESL for over 20 years. You've gone around everyone in the UK to discuss this have you?
Good non-argument 'PSG' supporter. Look at how the English fans grouped together to get their clubs to back out. It's not wanted in England, it was made clearly obvious.

He’s a troll who previously posed as a Welsh rugby supporter.

I’d be happy if there was an ESL if it got overpaid prima donnas like Arsenal out of our league. Just as long as it wasn’t on telly.

Deeree me. But seriously though, maybe you need psychological help.

What is your favourite arrondisement?

Grass roots sport to me, means kids.

LeBron James when younger decided to support Dallas Cowboys, he was born and brought up in Ohio. Cymric culture started in present day Western Germany/Eastern France. Celtic writing has been found in Portugal. Brittany of course, got a soft spot for Gwengamp/Guingamp. Alun Wyn Jones did a DNA test, found he was mostly of Norman descent.

As I've said on here before, my feelings for OUFC started on League Cup Final day, 1986, I was brought up not far from where Jeremy Charles is from. Dean Saunders and OUFC had a Mr Evans as manger.

No English football fan wants it.

Good fishing attempt though.

Actually, you know what - I think I do want an ESL.

Not because I would have any interest in watching it. But because if the big 6 ****ed off with all the Premier League money, then there's a chance that the rest of the English game might return to what it used to be; without the absurd amount of money at the top of the game that puts its thumb on the competitive scales and leads directly to a whole raft of football league clubs putting themselves in financial danger trying to muscle in to get a space at the PL trough.

Would be bad news for the majority of football league players, mind, as wages would have to return to sustainable levels again......

(obviously I acknowledge that this whole thread is a bad trolling attempt.......but I wanted to make the argument anyhow......)

Yeah but you've become way too American over the years so don't count as an English football fan anymore 😉

I do take your point though, but I'd rather they found a way to distribute money fairer throughout the pyramid - but that will never happen unfortunately.

Yes absolutely, the English champions would be Everton, West Ham, Southampton, or whoever, it would be more varied and we could all forget about the big six.

Who cares? I don't want to watch money. I appreciate that the PL has raised standards across the board but I'd be prepared to sacrifice a bit of that for a more sustainable and organic future.

Organic future?

Will the new stadium have an allotment on SB? That might convince FoSB that we should come to Kidlington.

Oooh, are we following the Vicarage Road model?
Wonder if the allotments are still there, been a while since my last visit to Vicarage Road. It certainly helped with crowd dispersal, no need to keep the away fans locked in because by the time they managed to get round the allotments and back round the ground, all the home fans had gone!

Not sadly according to Google maps as it looks like they've built some Hospital buildings/Parking* on it.

*The parking would never be allowed in Oxford unless it was for Uni research staff.
