Dickies Deal

Do we know if it's a new two-year deal that replaces his old one (i.e. expiring in Summer 2021).

Or a two-year extension that kicks in after his old one (i.e. expiring in Summer 2022)?

Either is good, but the second would be better!

Dickies Deal - sounds like one of those shite day time programs with David Dickinson.
good to get this sorted. things slowly coming together

Excellent! that's exactly what I was going for but couldn't remember the blokes name :)

So in effect it means the one year left has been replaced with a new 2 year contract.
Effectively we don't have to worry about him leaving for free in a years time.
Unless he signs a further contract he will be off in a year but at least if the club have Moore we wont lose 2 CBs at one go and hopefully Jones will be far closer in one years time

Good for both the club & player, I don’t think we’ll hold back Dickie request if he was to play Championship football this time next year & still get a decent high end 6 figure fee. win win

Really pleased to see him sign the new deal based on potential and the Dunkley/Nelson saga not being repeated.

However, the jury is still out on RD for me. The first half season he had, I thought he looked like shrewd business but last season I thought he was a total liability.

New season, fresh slate, hoping the potential that is there starts to fulfill this season.

Dickie was in magnificent form for most of the second half of last season. God knows what you were watching.

Teacher!!!! Say no more, my teachers knew f**k all.

How good has dickie been the last 3 matches. The way he brings the ball out of defence making room for our midfielders is pure quality. Its like the ball is stuck to his foot.

And how much is he improved over the last 12 months?

Interesting observation made on Radio Oxford on Saturday. Essentially they were saying Nelson should have stepped forward as the more senior centre back and agreed to take the left position last season, which would have allowed Dickie to regain lost confidence etc. I guess Nelson’s priority by then was to showcase his own talent first with a view to getting a better move once his contract had run down.
