The current Govt advice is still if your MOT expires, you cannot use your car and must be declared as SORN and parked off of the road until you get it MOT'd. MOT Centres are still open and should be used. NI have put a 3 month extension on all MOTs to remove the issue, England, etc seem to be unclear on what they will do and as such, the current stays as is.
Spoke to the Garage, they are still open and we are trying to work out a way of doing it as it's 5 mins away. The current plan is someone picks the car up if they can, and I take my daily exercise to pick it up when it's done. Or just go there, drop it off, come home and pick it up and hope the Rozzers don't notice - sntiches get stitches!
. Unfortunately my neighbour needs the car to do a weekly shop, so we are stuck for alternatives as they are over 70.
I can see that we aren't the only ones struggling with the MOT issue, judging by the concern on social media. Some key workers are understandably very worried with the mixed messages they are getting. They have to work but won't be road legal or even covered by insurance.
