It seems an away kit is used much more often now even when there is not a clash of colours and sometimes even when the away kit is more of a clash than the home kit.
Yesterday, Shrewsbury, when playing at Charlton chose to change from home kit of Blue & (dirty) yellow to all white even though Charlton are red and white.
Preston seem keen on their away kit of all green which does seem to be a similar colour to that of the pitch.
And I'm still wondering why we changed for the Swindon match. Someone said something to do with Swindon goalie's top. But surely the goalie should change?

2nd ( 3rd & 4th ++ ) kits are quite simply aimed at calculatedly fleecing as much £ out of loyal supporters

well, there are when they're available for sale from the respective club shop outlets
(Oxford United's 3rd kit for this season - the white one- isnt- albeit it was apparently limited edition for fans to purchase, yet the 3rd/ white shirt has been worn more this season than the official 2nd kit - orange & black )
