Away Match Day Thread 7/5/23: Ipswich vs OUFCW - Title Decider

Wasn't a good game today, absolutely 100% effort given but lacked something, Ipswich weren't a lot better but got the all important goal.

A real shame that they couldn't quite make it across the line. One nil up away to Watford with 15 minutes or so to go, if they could have just held out then they'd have won the league.

It must be hard after narrowly missing out last season too. Hopefully next season is much more successful for both the men's and womens teams.

Third time lucky in the coming season? In with a more than a deceny chace if CPF contnues to be a fortress....the yellow roses have a formidable record at home in the league

I think they could do with Watford winning the playoff with forest this weekend, which would take them out of the equation for next season.

Coventry are coming down*, but have been hit with financial troubles all season, so may not be in the strongest position to mount a promotion challenge, which would leave a three way battle (us,, Ipswich and Portsmouth ) to fight it out this time, rather than four.

* - as with all regional splits, who goes where is somewhat arbitrary, but with the southernmost clubs in the northern division all in and around the west midlands it would probably make the most sense to slot Coventry straight into the southern section, rather than put them north and move a close neighbour south.
