Tonight feels huge it's a game we really don't want to lose ( obviously) . I'm abit nervous I think it would be typical Oxford to do what they've done in the last three games and then lose tonight.

I'm still looking forward still excited it's got that big game feel we need the passion from the stands again tonight as someone said let's make our own yellow wall

Fingers crossed we do the job tonight, I don't want to rely on Beating Stevenage we will be cream crackered Friday and on Sky. COYYs let's scrape a win tonight. Then hopefully that will be enough. 2-1 a goodram special flying in the top corner. And a Harris tap in.

Isn’t this the club we’ve won at twice by 6-0?
Let’s get over the line and hope we can get Goodwin fit for the upcoming big games

Indeed, it comes with the territory. I can't see us smashing 4 or 5 with no reply tonight, so a low scoring win will be very welcome. Lincoln have to win, but I think they will also make it tough, I reckon they will look for an early goal then shut up shop.

I do find it annoying when the previous threads are locked, so I've copied my post on the Match Build Up thread below to give some context to my latest post.
I started dot counting for this one late Saturday evening, and as it's a short time frame, did a further count midway through yesterday, and at midnight.

First count had us at just over 7,000 home GA sales, and the count at midnight was just short of 7,300. Not earth shattering, but reasonable. It's hard to compare and forecast for midweek games (especially re-arranged games) and the closest I have is Bolton, back in November. It was against a similar calibre of opposition (although some may claim Bolton to be more attractive than Lincoln, the importance of this game counter balances that) and at the same stage we are about 400 ahead. That game ended with 7,742 home sales. I'd hope for a bigger take up today and tomorrow and would currently forecast about 8,200 home sales. Lincoln have sold over 1,000 (although supposedly Peterborough had, and they never materialised!) so probably looking at 9,200 total.

Before anyone says that's poor, it's worth looking at where sales are down compared to last Saturday's game. The family area of the North Stand is down considerably, by about 400. East Stand sales are very good, and on par with Saturday, and SSL and SSU are both about 150 down, with the VIP area having 40 unsold seats.

I think every game should be sold out, and can't imagine not going to a game, but not everyone is me, and not everyone is at my stage of life. I feel we have to accept that, especially with three home games in under a week, and one of them televised, people may have to make difficult choices, and those choices will affect games like this. It's worth looking at midweek games in previous seasons as a comparison, and we are way up on those.

We'd have undoubtably had a bigger attendance for the original date this game was scheduled for, but given the respective form of the two sides, then verses now, I'll take playing them tomorrow when we're on fire, rather than on the original date, when they were on fire and we weren't, even if there's a few hundred fewer people watching it.
So at midnight last night we were at 7,750 which means really good sales of 450 for the day. We've now surpassed the Bolton attendance with a day to go and also the box sales to add in. I'll stick with my 9,200 total for now, but may move it upwards as today's sales progress.

Lincoln have no choice but to attack from the outset which, if the defence holds out as competently as it did against Peterborough, gives us, as defined by Buckingham's style, a distinct advantage. Soak up the pressure then let the combination of swift passing through the defence combined with the electric pace of Murphy and Dale, i.e hit them on the break in the first half. If we go in front early on, then Lincoln face a monumental, probably Sisyphean task...the more they are forced to attack, the more lethal our counters become.

If Lincoln were to score first however, they would be in the driving seat as they will simply lock down with a ten man defence.

Sisyphean is probably a first for the forum !
