Can anyone shed some light on the guy Joe Nicolas I think his name is ( apologies if wrong ) and what his role was because the atmosphere today was incredible! Also huge credit to Rosie before the match getting the crowd whipped up can remember him doing it before the Swindon game when beano got sent off and we beat them 2-0 ! Well done Oxford proud to be a yellow!

Joe Nicholls - he heads up the Yellow Army initiative.

Rodrigues kept getting in the right positions to pop up late in the box for cutbacks, you can’t put a price on that. I thought he had a very good game.
Agree and not a criticism, I just didn't feel he was at his most influential but having a player who can get into those positions regularly is gold dust. I'd still like to see Cam in one of those roles, I think he's neutered slightly by playing as the holding midfielder, or alternatively he does go forwards and it leaves us with gaps to plug. If this system can free him up and get the best of him then we're absolutely laughing. Harsh on Goodrham who I'm a massive fan of and was excellent today but he's also really effective coming off the bench.

Two goals, linked everything, put a real shift in, yet he wasn’t at his most influential! His best game for months, not sure what you were watching?

I thought the pre-match balloons really got the crowd up for it.
I must admit I was happy to see most of them being blow out the stadium in between the East & South stands heading towards Grenoble Road 🙌🤣

Had to think what to say because what I wanted to say has been said by so many on this thread.
Did I think we would win today especially after the team was announced? No I wished for a draw at best. but how wrong was I.
The penalty o was worried no Cam to take it up stepped Sparky he hit it low towards there keeper and from where I sit I thought it was going to be saved, I was wrong.
1-0
What a joke their keeper was for the second what a superb player to be there to head in their mistake.
2-0
That same superb player then waltzed into the box and passed for Reuben to slot home.
3-0
Half time
2nd half
Young Mr Stevens who hasn’t played for a month or so then sent in a sublime pass for that man Reuben to score with a superb header.
4-0
Then substitutions were made one of which then got the ball took it a bit wide but turned and a deft chip into the far corner.
5-0
Game over, was i surprised? Yep my thoughts before the game were wrong well wrong.
But what a game yes they may have had 70% possession but possession doesn’t win games shots and chances do, and we took them.
I wanted Des to have the summer transfer window but after Bolton I didn’t want him to have that? But I was wrong and he’s proved me and a lot of others wrong. Well done Mr Buckingham.
Today proved we can mix it and the Bolton game was a wake up call.
Today that superb player Josh Murphy was MOM I think all eleven player plus the 5 subs were MOM.
Well done Des
Well done the players
Well done the fans for the superb support and singing today.

If you watch Rodrigues for the whole 90, you realise how good he actually is. Manipulates the ball so well, moves players out of position, works his B*****s off, always looks to play forward. Hard to believe there are some questioning his performance today. Been a wonderful signing.

Nice to see Mceachran get some well deserved credit. Have been flying the flag for him for most of the season, and today really showed what he is about. The importance of playing quick, one touch passes is incredibly valuable to a team and he's our best player at it, and it's really something that Cam/MM lack. Obvious concerns about his fitness and would get Cam back in for Tuesday if fit, but JMc has barely played at this level (always above) and you could really tell that today.

2 brilliant goals as well.

I have a really bad feeling Swansea will be trying to sign him this summer so let’s hope we can get the job done the next 6 games so we can see more of the baller in a yellow shirt.

🇵🇹

What an eye opening performance today. I didn’t see it coming! We were f*****g brutal.
Firstly our defence looked assured. Brown and Long really worked at centre back. Sam Long plays better centrally. He just has more suitable attributes. Steven’s has better technique, footwork and crossing ability as a right back.

I think the balance in our midfield worked very well. Josh Mcech glued us together and was faultless with and without the ball, and this is where it got sexy for me. Goodrham got us through the lines sharpish and aggressively for such a diminutive figure, and because of that Rod was often receiving the ball a split second quicker where he could do some damage.

Because we didn’t mess about in the middle of the park, our wide men were receiving in much more favourable positions and together with our collective press, posh were extremely vulnerable.

Others have already talked about our front 3 but they were superb all day long.

Lastly, is anyone else wondering about cam bran and Elliott Moore this evening? Was it purely a coincidence that we played so cohesively and impassioned without them? Because we didn’t cope….we thrived!

Not sure if it’s definitely the same person but he used to be a regular poster under the pseudonym ‘John Lennon’. He worked (I think?) for the club during the Eales era too. A long time ago he worked on the ‘Bring The Noise’ campaign coined by LoveandPride. It was around the time we tried moving a group of singers from block 19 to the back corner of the East Stand (closest to the North Stand). I think the original ‘bring the noise’ promo was Rotherham at home. But its been a while.

He gets a lot of flak as a right back but CB he always does a very good job. He is no nonsense and very disciplined. He is also very calm with the ball at his feet.
If Brannagan is fit for Tuesday though I’d still put him in over McEachran even though I thought JM had a great game today.

All of Longs best performances in the last couple of years have come at centre back, his weaknesses are exposed at right back but not at centre back, it’s his best position.
